The 70-Inch Waterproof TV

Since 70-inch TVs aren't all that rare, it was just a matter of time before someone took one and made it waterproof. This isn't an all weather TV you can leave outside though, this is more for putting one on a boat, or not worrying about someone splashing it next to the hot tub or pool.

The TV is an actual Samsung LCD and comes with everything you would expect such as 1080p, 15000:1 contrast ratio, and all the inputs and so on. The TV was made waterproof and being sold by MarineAV, and you can hit their site to check out the TV HERE.

The Power Surfboard

The Power Surfboard is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. You stand on the front half of the board, and using a hand held throttle and you body weight to turn, you can speed through any body of water at up to 25mph.

The surfboard is powered by a 9.5 hoursepower, 4 stroke gas engine. The engine has a push button start up, and with a full two gallon take of gas, you can ride for about two to three hours. You can use the board in any body of water from the ocean to a local pond, and it can even be used in shallow bodies of water as the surfboard possesses a weed cutting system so your engine won't get clogged.

The board itself is eight feet long, weighs about 112 pounds, and comes in blue, red, yellow and white. The board currently costs $3,250, and you can purchase one HERE. Also, if surfing isn't your thing, you can also buy a kayak for the same price HERE.

World’s Fastest Yacht

The 118 WallyPower is equipped with three gas turbines that generate 16,800 HP power, allowing the 118 to reach up to 60 knots in flat seas, and making it the current World's Fastest Yatch record holder.

The designer and founder of Wally Yachts is Luca Bassani Antivari, a 47-year-old Italian entrepreneur and former champion yachtsman who has earned the Monaco-based company an international reputation for customized cruising boats. It has a range of 1500 miles at 9 knots down to 300 miles at 60 knots, a displacement of 95 tons and accommodates up to 6 guests and 6 crew. The 118 will set you back quite a bit though for all that speed. It's currently for US $17 million when equipped with only two engines, and $25 million with the triple gas turbines.

You can read more about the 118 WallyPower at the Wally site HERE.

The Stability Yacht

Stability Yachts is building catamaran-based yacht with SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) technology to reduce any rocking motion when moving or at a standstill. The designers set out to develop a boat that is stable in almost all conditions you are likely to encounter, and to be far more comfortable in less common, very rough conditions. SWATH technology has been previously used by the military and deep-sea research ships, but has never been available in a private yacht until now.

When in quiet seas, the SWATH stability is not required, so the hulls can be raised out of the water with the push of a button, turning the boat into a power catamaran. In high seas, the SWATH technology enables a 5' wave to pass "through" the two catamaran hulls and reduces the upward forces on the vessel as the waves pass beneath the boat . The biggest advantage comes in a beam sea because the technology significantly reduces the vessel's up and down movement and totally eliminates any quick jarring movements.

You can get more information on the yatch at the Stability Yatchs site HERE, on all it's host of other features.

Rinspeed sQuba Submersible Car Concept

The sQuba is a unique car that can drive on land, on the water and up to 33 feet (10m) under water. The first step in the process of making a submersible car was removing the it’s dependance on air by using only electric motors. Power for the motors comes from lithium-ion batteries which also makes the car a zero emissions vehicle. Next the car was made air tight with a catch, the car has an open top, which means the passenger compartment is flooded when you're under water.

While underwater, the vehicle is powered by SeaBob jet drives that are housed in directional nozzles on the sides of the car. Three motors provide propulsion, one on land and the other two in the water. While under the water, passengers breathe from an integrated compressed air tank similar to those used by scuba divers. The open top of the vehicle is also practical, in that if something would happen while under water, the passengers can make a quick exit.

The car will be on show at Geneva next month, and there's no word on if it will actually be sold at some point, or if any more will be made.

$40 Million Surfer Wave Machine to Launch in London

Set to open in London sometime in 2011 is a $40 million wave machine provides six-foot waves to surfers. The plan is to persuade surfers to take to their boards in Tower Hamlets rather than make the long drive to the West Country.Water sports enthusiasts will be charged a fee of $60-an-hour to urban surf.

Duncan Scott, 29, the chairman of the British Surfing Association and a professional surfer, said the urban sites have a future. "Everything about the experience is fake, but the fun is real," said Scott, who has tackled artificial waves in Japan and South Africa. "Some think high-performance surfing will only really develop when we can artificially replicate the same wave again and again allowing us to perfect manoeuvres which we can then take out into real waves. It won't replace ocean surfing but it will be a good stop-gap, especially if you have to take a gamble and drive five hours to Cornwall from London. You can very easily get there and find a howling onshore wind [which ruins the waves]."
