Bathys Benthic Ti Watch Giveaway

You have to jump on this one pretty quick, as it's over on at the end of November, so you only have a few days.

The watch is nice, but it's really not my style. Though if I actually won this, I could throw on a metal band, and it might be nice. As I've said many times before, I'm not a big fan of the leather or rubber bands.

Here's the details, borrowed strait from the A Blog To Read site:

One of you will get to win this fantastic Hawaii-based Bathys Benthic Ti watch this month. It might be cold outside, but you can dream about an island paradise. 48mm wide and in titanium, this large men's watch isn't going to be too heavy, and features Bathys' iconic sport suave styling that says, "I know how to look good when relaxing or having fun." A dive watch at heart, the Benthic Ti has a domed sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 200 meters. Of course it has a rotating diver's bezel and SuperLumiNova covered hands and hour indicators. Inside the watch is a Swiss Ronda quartz movement with a retrograde day of the week indicator along with a big-date indicator.

The dial is super easy to read, but has a laid-back calmness to it that is in line with the timepiece's Hawaiian origins. The Bathys Benthic Ti comes on a black (waterproof) leather strap with red contrast stitching and also includes a rubber diving strap. Like all high-quality Bathys watches, the Benthic Ti comes in a waterproof Pelican case.

Retail price for the Bathys Benthic Ti watch is $995.

Again, you only have a few days to enter this, as the giveaway is over on November 30th, 2010. To enter, you need to follow the instructions at the site HERE.

Brera Supersportivo Watch

Good looking watch, and while it's on the expensive side, it's not outrageous. I'm still not a fan of a rubber strap, especially if you're shelling out $750 for it.  On this one, it at least looks decent, but a nice black metal strap would be a lot better looking. Here's the details:

Much the same as all Brera timepieces, the 48mm Supersportivo come with a signature brushed steel case, signature 11mm Brera crown and full chrono function. Additionally, a complicated triple layer matte black dial with cut-out openings and unique cut-out date disk, highlighted by brushed steel accents, completes the attention to quality and detail. Quartz OS1A movement, anti-reflective crystal and black vulcanized rubber strap with signature Brera square buckle.

As I mentioned, the watch is $750, and you can get it over at the Barneys New York site HERE.

Breitling Chronomat 01 Watch

Nice looking watch, but overall I personally still don't like the big numbers on the dial. Here's the details:

Breitling introduces its flagship Chronomat 01 model in a limited series endowed with exclusive finishing and a transparent caseback providing a fascinating view of the 100% in-house made chronograph caliber. A close-up look at elegance and top-flight performances.

First introduced in the spring of 2009, the Chronomat 01 was the first Breitling watch to house Caliber 01, a chronograph movement entirely developed and produced in the brand’s workshops. The leading model in the Breitling collections, this instrument is distinguished by the powerful character of its case, its bezel engraved with original numerals, and its distinctive blend of strength and elegance. Available in a number of different versions, it has established itself as the new benchmark in the field of mechanical chronographs – and indeed as the ultimate chronograph.

For devotees of rare and exclusive timepieces, Breitling now offers this iconic model in limited series of 2,000 in steel and 200 in rose gold, all bearing the individual number engraved at 9 o’clock on the case middle. The strong and unique design of the case, bezel and bracelet is highlighted by subtle contrasted finishing – satin-brushed on the top and polished on the sides. The black dial is adorned with applied hour-markers. Contrary to the standard Chronomat 01 models, equipped with solid steel or gold casebacks, the Chronomat 01 Limited Edition features a transparent sapphire crystal caseback providing optimal views of the in-house made chronograph movement. An exceptional glimpse of this high-performance motor boasting a column-wheel, an entirely original architectural design, and assembled according to a revolutionary industrial process.

Botta-Design Black Edition Watch

This is a very simple and clean look, but I like it. I'm still not a fan of the leather band look, but I might make an exception for this one. Here's some of the details:

In 2010, Botta-Design is introducing a new product variant: the "Black Edition". Selected models will be subjected to a complicated procedure which gives them an extremely hard surface of the sort normally found, for example, in professional tools. To protect them against wear, high-tech drills made of hardened steel are finished using the same technology as the watch cases in the Black Edition. This produces a surface which is much tougher and more resistant even than the high-quality stainless steel and titanium cases, providing optimum protection against scratches and an extremely refined look.

They run from around $630 to $1000, which is way too much in my opinion, but if you have the cash, it might be worth looking into them. You can read more about this model and the three others, over at the Botta Design site HERE.

OMEGA Speedmaster Broad Arrow Co-Axial

Pretty good looking watch. Though I would have to see it in person before I'd buy one. I've seen a few OMEGA watches that looked great in pictures, but weren't impressive at all in person. Here's the press release:

The new Speedmaster Broad Arrow Co-Axial collection introduces some stylish additions to the classic design of the watch that has been part of more than a hundred NASA missions including all six lunar landings.

The dial, available in black or silver, features a distinctive “Geneva Waves” pattern. The familiar chronograph counters, or sub-dials, are characterized by three applied rings which surround a unique “beehive” structure, giving the Speedmaster Broad Arrow Co-Axial its own personality. The sub-dial rings on the silver dial are blackened and those on the black dial are silver for a particularly appealing contrast. There is a date window at the 4:30 position on the dial.

The hour and minute hands, which are either blackened or rhodium-plated, are coated with white Super-LumiNova which makes them easy to read in all lighting conditions. The central chronograph hand has a red tip as do the hands of the sub-dials.

The 44.25 mm stainless steel case has the shape which has been associated with OMEGA Speedmasters for more than half a century. The Speedmaster Broad Arrow Co-Axial is presented with either a stainless steel bracelet or an integrated black alligator strap.

The Speedmaster Broad Arrow Co-Axial is powered by the exclusive OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 3313. The accuracy of the self-winding chronograph is independently confirmed by its status as a COSC-certified chronometer. The movement is equipped with OMEGA’s Co-Axial escapement on three levels. It delivers outstanding chronometric performance over a long period of time which increases service intervals and has allowed OMEGA to guarantee it for three years. It also allows the possibility of changing the hour hand independently of the minute and second hands – ideal for travelling between time zones. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back.

The outstanding chronograph performance of the Broad Arrow Co-Axial is ensured by its column wheel chronograph mechanism. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres / 10 bar / 330 feet.

The OMEGA Speedmaster Broad Arrow Co-Axial watch is a fashionable interpretation of a chronograph which has gone to places no other watch has ever been. It artfully combines the Speedmaster’s rugged, adventurous spirit with some dramatic features which will make it one of the most popular members of the line.

Edox WRC Rally Chronograph Automatic Watch

I kind of like the look of this watch, all except for the oversized buttons. They look a little out of place.

The watch itself is also pretty large, at 45mm. Its also 17.25mm thick, with automatic mechanical movement, and a rubber strap. Which is another think that I'm not all excited about with this one. I'm not sure why someone would spend $3,100 on this watch, with only a rubber strap. For that much, they could at least make it leather. Though since its WRC Rally inspired, with the tread looking pattern, I guess its supposed to remind you of car tires.

You can see more about the watch over at the Edox site HERE.

Also, thanks to Perpetuelle.com site for the info.

Xetum’s Tyndall Swiss Watch

This is a pretty basic looking watch, though some might call it a clean look also. This is one of those watches that I just couldn't see spending the money on, but if you like this style, it's not bad at all. Here's a few details about it:

Xetum’s Tyndall Swiss automatic timepiece blends modern aesthetics with instrument-style functionality. Based around an elaboree-grade ETA 2895 Swiss automatic watch movement, the Tyndall seamlessly integrates features such as 24H indicators and a small second subdial into Xetum’s signature lugless case.

The watch costs $1,395.00, and you can check it out HERE.

The Mutewatch

As watches go, this one isn't actually that stylish. In fact, it's kind of plane looking. However, functionality wise, it sounds awesome.

Here's some of the details:

Touch interface

To activate Mutewatch – just tap the flat surface and a hidden screen will appear. Now use your fingers to navigate through the functions – swipe horizontal to scroll between timer, clock and alarm.

To set a time for a desired vibration – when the digits appear, just swipe your finger vertically along each of the digits or tap on the top or bottom part of the digits until the correct time is shown on the screen.

To delete an alarm you’ve set – just pinch it and it will be erased.

USB

Mutewatch uses a standard USB port to charge, just plug it into your computer or USB compatible charger.

Colours
Mutewatch comes in three colours, selected for time-less elegance. Laidback Charcoal Grey, striking Pure White and invigorating Poppy Red.

No release date yet, but they'll cost €199, which is around $254 USD at the moment. You can check out the watch, and even pre-order one, at the site HERE.

Frederique Constant and Cohiba Limited Edition Watch And Humidor

I can't say that I'm overly excited about the watch in this combo. It's nice looking, and I'm sure its made well, but it just doesn't grab me at all.

The combo is pretty cool, and I'd like to see a lot more of this kind of thing. You get a humidor, the cigars (maybe) and the your choice of a steel or rose gold plated watch. There will be 188 of each watch type made, and they're only available in the U.S., though I'm not sure where you'll be able to actually grab one.

The steel watch set costs $1,650, and the rose gold at $1,750.

You can read more about the set, and get a close up view of the watch, over at the Perpetuelle site HERE.

Girard-Perregaux WW.TC (world wide time control) Watch

Another good looking watch that is way out of my price range. Looking around the internet, it looks like a number of the watches in this line cost around $9,000, and go up from there. However, if you have the means, these are pretty nice. They come in a number of colors and varieties now, and all of them have the "world time" function that shows the time in all of the time zones on its dial, by matching it up with a city.

He's a little bit about the watch shown:

Technical specifications

Height: 13.40 mm
Case-back: sapphire crystal, secured by 6 screws
Water resistance: 50 metres
Girard-Perregaux GP033C0 self-winding mechanical movement

You can check out all the watches at the Girard-Perregaux site, under the WW.TC Collection, HERE.
