Very cool looking bottle, and I do need to look around for another Tequila to keep in the bar. This is the Reserve, so it's a little more expensive than your average bottle, at $50, but that's not bad at all. Here's the details:

Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Reposado is a limited edition tequila made from 100% estate-grown, blue agave harvested from the highlands of Jalisco that is hand-picked and hand-selected for quality based on the strictest criteria. The heart of the blue agave flourishes in Jalisco, Mexico. Our triple distillation process produces tequila of extraordinary depth and character for unparalleled smoothness. Aged 10 months in new French single oak barrels, Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Reposado has a honey amber color that radiates from its hand-blown Crystal bottle.

You can grab one at your local liquor store if you're lucky, or grab one at the site HERE.

This sounds interesting, not sure what it tastes like, but I'll give just about anything with alcohol in it a shot. Here's a little bit about it:

Pisco Portón is an unapologetically flavorful spirit that brings dimension and character back to the drinking experience. Taken neat, it is complex and layered. When mixed, Pisco Portón creates a whole new category of cocktails, more flavorful than vodka and more subtle than tequila. Pisco Portón is the new spirit that is actually new, with aromas and flavors sure to incite and intrigue as it opens a whole new world of cocktail possibilities.

Pisco Portón is handcrafted using centuries-old distilling methods in combination with new technology to create a mosto verde pisco made from a blend of grapes that is of superior quality and true to Peruvian tradition. To preserve the full character of the grapes, Pisco Portón uses the mosto verde method of distilling from a partially fermented grape juice known as must. Our pisco is never adulterated with water or artificial flavors. What is in the glass is pure and natural.

This new ultra premium white spirit is made at Hacienda La Caravedo in Ica, Peru, which is home to a new state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly distillery, as well as the oldest distillery in the Americas (est. 1684). Pisco Portón is committed to maintaining a high level of artisanal craft and honoring centuries of Peruvian heritage. Each bottle is individually numbered and bears the signature of our Master Distiller, Johnny Schuler.

	- Distilled to proof (no water added)
- Approximately 15 pounds of grapes go into every bottle of Pisco Portón
- Handcrafted in small batches
- Rested for months to achieve a complex, round flavor
- Never altered by aging in wood, the addition of water or artificial flavors and colors
- 100% made from must; not like grappa, which is made from pomace

You can read a lot more about it, over at the Pisco Porton site HERE.

Not that I can really tell a good rum from the bottle, but if I could, I would say this one is pretty good. I'll have to add this stuff to the long list of things I need to track down. Here's the details from the site:

The Treaty Oak itself is a majestic Live Oak over 500 years old located inGraham Barnes Distilling downtown Austin. Its name and history were derived from a legend stating that Stephen F. Austin signed a boundary treaty with local Native Americans beneath its shade. The legendary oak has become a symbol of strength, longevity and pride for all Texans.

The unwavering Treaty Oak sets a high standard, the same standard we use to produce Treaty Oak Platinum Rum. Our rum was created with three important principles in mind:

	- Make a superb silver rum that could compete not only with the best rums, but also with the best vodkas.
- Use only Texas ingredients.
- Make our rum by hand and from scratch.

While these ideals may seem very simple, we are proud to say that we are Texas’ first & only distillery to both brew and distill our spirit. For that matter, we are one of very few micro-distilleries in the United States that adhere to this labor-intensive production method. Simply put, we believe controlling all aspects of production results in a superior quality spirit.

Our rum begins with molasses from the last operating sugar mill in Texas. We prepare the molasses by removing numerous insolubles and unwanted flavors via a proprietary process. Our yeasts have been specifically selected for the production of a premium silver rum during fermentation. These yeasts produce less ester, thus ensuring a smoother and more predictable palate.

After allowing the appropriate time for fermentation, we distill using reflux column stills to achieve a cleaner, higher proof pure rum than can normally be produced with a traditional pot still. The rum is drawn slowly from our stills, giving plenty of time for the product to increase its quality and purity. At this point, the product is blended with filtered Hill Country water, and then double filtered through activated carbon.

The result of these processes is our Treaty Oak Platinum Rum – a beverage designed to compete with other top rums and vodkas alike. While the overall flavor is smooth and subtle, hints of citrus, vanilla and nutmeg may be found on the finish. It is perfect in traditional rum cocktails, excellent in drinks usually reserved for vodkas and superb served on its own. So, sit back, relax and enjoy a glass of Treaty Oak Platinum Rum, a rum truly made in the spirit of Texas…

You can check it out over at the Treaty Oak site HERE.

I usually don't drink Absolute, unless it's a shot. Since this is a small batch vodka though, I might have to give it a try. Here's the details:

Absolut Elyx is a small-batch vodka made in an authentic 1929 copper rectification still.

“Aroma and flavor are the obvious and most immediately striking characteristics of vodka. Absolut Elyx goes beyond that. It has a clean and fresh taste with subtle floral and fruity tones, but its most defining quality lies in the texture. Not detectable by the nose or taste buds, texture determines how the vodka feels in your mouth. Absolut Elyx is elegant and incredibly soft, and leaves you with a silky feeling in your mouth,” says Krister Asplund, master distiller at The Absolut Company.

To create Absolut Elyx, Krister Asplund sourced the finest wheat and water, put a 1929 rectification still back into use, and refined copper catalyzation. These four factors—100% Hand-selected Estate Wheat, Pristine Water Filtrated by Nature, Perfected with Copper Catalyzation, and Authentic Craftsmanship—are equally important in the production, and they are outlined in the Absolut Elyx manifesto, which guarantees long-term quality and an everlasting commitment to perfection.

“The color is transparent and brilliant. The nose is plentiful and intense with a lot of character; it displays subtle hints of vanilla and lemon and has a floral touch. The palate is pure and invigorating with a silky, unctuous texture—creamy, subtle and persistent with a fine balance, and a long-lasting finish with a subtle spiciness. Absolut Elyx is a finely tuned vodka with character and elegance”, says Andreas Larsson, Sommelier World Champion 2007, and one of the world’s most renowned sommeliers.

This is an interesting product. Instead of cutting up limes, you just pop a strip in your mouth, and your good to go. Here's the press release:

POCKET CHASER ™ INTRODUCES PATENT-PENDING CHASER STRIPS AT MARCH 2011
LAS VEGAS NIGHTCLUB & BAR CONVENTION

New Product Promises to Revolutionize the Retail Liquor Industry with Convenient, No Mess
Alternative to Citrus Wedges Used for Drinking Shots of Straight Liquor Newport Beach, CA (February 16, 2011) – Pocket Chaser Inc., manufacturer of dissolving chaser strips for the retail liquor industry, has announced it will unveil a revolutionary new chaser alternative to real limes and other chasers on March 8, 2011 at the Nightclub & Bar Convention in Las Vegas, NV. Breaking tradition in a state-of-the-art process, this product offers a refreshingly new way to chase shots of liquor for the convenience minded drinker.

At the convention, Pocket Chaser Inc. will introduce its first strip in a series of signature chaser strips that dissolve on contact and coat the mouth with an intense flavor. The first strip in production features a lime flavor, a taste long used by revelers to counter the “burn” associated with drinking straight liquors like tequila. Other flavors are soon to follow. The company’s patent pending dissolving flavored strips are a 21st Century answer to the mess associated with chasing liquor in the pursuit of a soothing flavor that balances a harsh burn.

“With our introduction of dissolving strip technology to the public and our peers in the nightclub and restaurant industry, chasing shots has been redesigned from the ground up”, states Hans Thurau, Co-founder and President. “This new approach eliminates mess, provides convenience and ultimately improves the drinking experience.”

It’s a simple process. Eliminating the need for salt, limes and a cutting board, a drinker simply places a dissolving lime strip on their tongue seconds before taking a shot. These soluble strips instantly dissolve upon contact with the tongue, creating an extreme release of flavor ultimately reducing the harsh burn and aftertaste of the hard liquor.

“With real citrus, you always feel the full brunt of the liquor burn since real limes or lemons are typically used after the shot. We designed our product to enhance your drinking experience, not over take it. We've developed each strip with just enough flavor and intensity to reduce the effects of hard liquor on a sensitive palette”, noted Brian Yarberry, Co-founder and Executive
VP of Sales & Marketing.

Pocket Chaser™ promises to eliminate the old practice of chasing liquor using salt and real limes, and it’s starting by replacing the old ritual adage “Lick it, Suck it, Slam it” with its new slogan “Strip It n’ Slam It ™”. This product offers a unique solution for today's forward thinking consumer looking to bring a new level of convenience to the way they chase high proof liquor.

“We were inspired by the lack of availability of real limes and lemons at national retailers like CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens, as well as the mess and inconvenience of slicing real fruits in the nightclub and bar venues”, said Gil Sanchez, Co-founder and Executive VP of Business Development. “Drinking never goes out of style, but chasing shots with real citrus fruit just has”.

Focusing on convenience, simplicity and availability, the product is sold in a pocket sized case containing enough strips to chase 20 shots of liquor. The convenience extends further into bars and clubs; ladies won’t have to worry about smudging their lipstick on a lime and on-premise liquor promo models will now have a convenient alternative to handling cut fruit.

Armed with one of the most innovative products to hit the retail liquor industry in years the company has initiated a national launch with its sights on the global market to follow shortly after. As the product introduction moves forward, the company plans to expand its portfolio of product offerings with the introduction of lemon, orange and cola flavored strips. For more information visit www.pocketchaser.com.

It seems the Whiskey stone cubes are every where these days, so someone has upped the ante a little bit with stone glasses. Not sure I would get these though. With the stones, you can pop them in a glass, and still hold the glass. With these, it seems it would be like actually holding an ice cube. However, if you're just using them as shot glasses, you could just pop them out the freezer, pour, do the shot, and back into the freezer they go. Though $40 for 4 of them seems a little steep for that. Still, they are cool.

Here's the details about it from the site:

Between A Rock And A Hard Drink

Cooler than cubes, these soapstone shooters offer a new way to chill spirits without the wait (or the ice). Leave a set in the freezer for at least 4 hours before entertaining for smooth shots of vodka or any sips of your favorite spirits.
