JustLuxé has up a pretty decent almost ten minute video of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, held at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. The annual event coincides with the swimwear industry's largest tradeshow, and they talk to several designers, while showing you the woman walking the catwalk in the suits they designed.
You can hit the site HERE to watch the video.

The SLIMstage40 is only 3.3-inches wide by 3.4-inches high, and 39-inches long. Even with it's small size, it pumps out 170-watts from eight internal amplifiers. The device has four Linear Magnetic Drive main/satellite speakers and three Extreme-Energy subs that are assisted by six mass radiators. The device comes with three digital audio inputs (two optical, one coaxial), three analog inputs, a headphone jack, LED-backlit panel, an RS-232 port and an IR remote. The basic system sells for $899 or $1,199, if you add the SUBstage100 subwoofer to the package.
The SLIMstage40 is set to debut at CEDIA 2008 this year, and I'm a date on when this will hit the shelves will pop up around then.

The company Dottling is creating high quality safes that are customized to your needs. the safes come in three different types, the Legends series that uses antique safes, The Bel-Air line that look like steamer trunks, and The Chameleon line which are more functional than anything else, and are made to fit into small spaces.
The safe shown here, and the reason it caught my eye, was made into a humidor. The humidor had two humidification systems that are fully crafted into the safe, an illuminated console cover controlled by a remote that openes up to reveal a second secret humidor. The safe itself was built in Amsterdam in the late 19th century, featured a high-gloss black piano finish, and a curved door with the interior comprised of Spanish cedar.
No real word on the cost of the safe, but I'm guessing this is one of those that if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it. You can see more about the safes of the Dottling site HERE.

The newest version of the Zen comes with a number of new features, and a decent price tag.
The credit-card-sized player will come in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB versions. The 16 and 32GB models will have built-in wifi, come with a IM chat function and allows you to synch up with your PC for streaming music and video.
All of the players play music, video and photos, an FM radio, some PDA functions, and built in speakers for their alarm clock function. The X-Fi moniker might come from the upgraded sound options using Creative's own "crystalizer" and "expand" options. The screen is a 2.5 inch 320×240 pixel TFT that can display up to 16.7 million colors. Finally, the X-Fi has a SD/SDHC slot, allowing you to expand it's memory up to 32GB.
The X-Fi are currently only being released in Japan sometime this month, and there's no wrd yet on when they might hit the States. Current prices for the X-Fi would be $166, $213, $307 for the 8GB, 16GB and 32GB versions. Though that might all change when they're imported.
The current Zen line-up is nice, and with the extra features, if those prices hold, the X-Fi should probably be on your Christmas list.

If nothing else, this might be worth buying just for the cool bottle. I was heartened by the fact that they mention on their website that:
"During the last 10 years Vodka has changed from being a drinks business to becoming a luxury goods business. It is much more about lifestyle, fashion and elegance than the beverage inside the bottle. We decided to respond to this reality with our design only; the Vodka itself must stay true to it's ancient heritage of supreme quality"
That does make me want to go out and get a bottle.
The Vodka itself is made in Sweden. I's created using Winter Wheat that is planted in the autumn, and the seeds remain in the rich soil through the winter, which means that biological impurities don't survive. The wheat is harvested in the spring, then water from the the protected Malmkoping springs is added, and finally it's distilled. The final step, however, is that to increase the smoothness of the Vodka, the spirit that comes out of the distillation process is combined with a richer raw spirit in a blending process.
You can read all the details at the Nordic Spirit site HERE. If you can find the vodka on your local store shelf, it'll cost you around $65.

The Super Sidebar is an innovative beverage system that allows you to dispense five of your favorite beverages without handling a bottle.
The compact system automatically transports beverages from their original containers to your glass. Supply bottles can be stored as much as ten feet away, typically under counter tops or in a secure location. The system can be programmed to memorize and automatically pour various amounts of different adult non-carbonated beverages, just like having your own personal bartender.
You can read more about the Super SideBar at their site HERE.

The PokerMate table is a completely electronic poker table, that comes in 6, 8 or 10 seat models. Each player has their own touch sensitive screen which shows them their cards, face down, that actually curl up to let you see what you have when you touch them. The central screen shows the community cards, bets, and so on. Players can fold, check, post blinds, raise or call during the course of a game, all with a simple touch. The software itself will handle distributes cards, splits pots, calculates side pots, payouts and rake without error.
No word on price yet, and honestly I'm not sure that I would like one of these. Sure, I play online, but when I'm in a casino, I like the feel of the chips and the cards. It might be fun for a time or two, but overall, I just can't see it catching on.
You can read more about it at the Amaya site HERE.

Well, AT&T finally got around to coming out to the house and fixing the DSL line. Of course now there's a buzzing noise on the phone, but that's a whole different issue. The good news is that I'm back to being connected to the rest of the world, and I'll start posting again as of today.
I'll also have a few announcements in the next few days, and hopefully they'll be interesting.

The smooth 12-year-old single malt Scotch from the heart of Speyside in Dufftown, which is The Malt Whisky Capital of Scotland, will be available here nationwide for the first time this fall.
The Singleton of Glendullan is produced on the site of the original distillery, in a wooded valley along the banks of the rivers Dullan and Fiddich, which was built in 1897. Water from both rivers is used along with locally grown malted barley to create the Singleton
The Beverage Tasting Institute gives it 92 Points, and lists it's taste as the following:
Nose: Seville oranges and tangerines, oak, caramel, hints of smoke and granite.
Taste: Fantastically light, creamy honey coating your mouth. Hints of chilli, apples and vanilla with overtones of oak.
Finish: Dry, lightly smokey and a smooth warm aftertaste long in the mouth. The strength is not overpowering and leaves your mouth hanging for the next taste.
If you can't wait until it hits the shelves, you can already grab a bottle HERE.

Suntronic has created a 102-inch outdoor HDTV for your viewing pleasure.
The TVs can function in temperatures ranging from -40 to more than 120 degrees, have built-in heaters and air conditioners, and of course are waterproof. The TVs are also ultra-bright LCDs that improve “sunlight readability” for watching Sunday football games.
Though the TV looks like it's all one piece, Suntronic is cheating a little bit, as the screen is actually four 46-inch TVs set together to make the massive screen.
The TV is really made for commercial uses, but if price is no object, you can get get one for yourself. No word on actual price yet, as I couldn't find the 102-inch screen on the website of the company that is currently supposed to be selling it, www.i-techcompany.com. If you really want one though, I'm sure they'll be happy to sell you one.
