What A Waste Of Money

Those of us that have money to do whatever they want, buy some really stupid stuff.

Take for instance, the Platinum iPhone. This "limited edition" is encased in 24k platinum, with the back having a total of 46 diamonds where each stone is a minimum of at least 0.50 carat, and on the front it has 53 diamonds totaling 0.36 carat.

The only upside to the whole thing is that it has been made scratch proof, so at least all of that platinum won't get all marked up.

The company is only making 200 of them, and you can purchase one for 7,000 euros (about $10,000).

That's right, ten grand to make a $200 product all done up in platinum. I can only hope that whoever buys these has them stolen.

Night Vision Goggles

I'm not exactly sure why I would ever really need a pair of night vision goggles, but I'm sure I could come up with something.

The EyeClops goggles uses IR technology for monocular night vision, allowing you to see up to 50 feet in complete darkness. The eye piece flips up so that you can see in normal light while still wearing them, and while they're on, there's two viewing screens, one in the classic creepy green, and the other in black and white. Also, the EyeClops comes with two different sensitivity levels. The first is stealth mode, where the goggles operate at partial power for close proximity viewing, and the other is the normal mode, which operates at full power, emits a barely visible ring of red light, and lets you see things at a distance.

The thing that really caught my eye about these, is that the goggles are only $89.99 over at the Think Geek site HERE. The guys at the site did try out the goggles, and said they work as advertised. Not bad at all for the price.

Mosley KO’s Mayorga In 12th

Here's a little bit about the fight from the HBO site:

Shane Mosley continued to defy Father Time and demonstrated once again that time has not passed him by. Returning to the ring after the longest layoff of his career - nine months - Mosley struggled with a more disciplined and in-shape Ricardo Mayorga than usual though most of the fight. But with the fight very close on the scorecards, Mosley found a new gear in the 12th round, knocking down the Nicaraguan with 16 seconds to go with a right-left-right combo. Mayorga got up and then the 37-years-young Mosley put Mayorga down for the count with a solid left hook with just one second left in the fight.

And here's some details about the under card:

In the co-feature, Berto (23-0, 19 KOs) took on his most skilled and toughest opponent to date in former world champion Forbes (33-7, 9 KOs) in his first defense of a welterweight title he won in June. Berto showed much-improved defense and tremendous conditioning, fighting as hard in the 12th round against an older opponent who has never been knocked out to earn a unanimous decision, 118-109 twice, and 116-111.

You can read the full thing at the HBO site HERE.

You can also read accounts of the fight over at East Side Boxing HERE, HERE and HERE.

SoWine bar from EuroCave

I've seen a few of these before, and this one also looks pretty good. If you're a wine drinker, something like this is great to have if you want to save an open bottle of wine for later in the week. Here's the details from the site:

The SoWine Bar from EuroCave can keep fresh two bottles of opened wine for up to 7 days at the perfect serving temperature. The SoWine has two separate compartments that can be independently selected, with factory settings for both white and red wines. Since the compartments are independent of each other, you can have either two bottles of red, two white or one of each preserved and ready to go. The push down pump on top of the SoWine seals you're open bottle, ensuring the perfect vacuum to prevent oxidation of the wine.

You can read more about it over at the EuroCave site HERE.

Maxim Hometown Hotties Finalists

The contest started out with 1000 hopeful women, and is now down to just ten finalists. Each finalist has a new photo shoot and video up for you to take a look at, and then vote for your favorite.

I was a little surprised at some of the finalists. It's not that they're bad at all, far from it, I just wouldn't have pick a few of them to make the finals out the one hundred semi-finalists. There's also a few girls that looked a lot better in their original photos, than in the newer ones.

Regardless, you can head over to the Maxim site HERE to check out the finalists and cast your vote.

Ask Men Surveys

The web site AskMen.com has recently done two surveys, one for women and one for men. The male questions cover Lifestyle, Dating, Sexuality and Power & Money. The female questions are a little more basic (it is called AskMen after all) and they just cover women's sexuality and dating trends.

I don't think that anything in here is going to be all that shocking, but it might be interesting to match your answers up and see where you stand on some issues against everyone else.

You can find the men's survey HERE, and the women's HERE.
