The iTower Omega

The site Techabob has a nice review of the iTower Omega. From the site:

It stands almost four feet tall, and has a nice black-cherry wood finish (laminate, though.) A media player dock sits on top and works with any iPod with a docking connector.

The $299 iTower Omega features four stereo speakers, a single dome tweeter, two subwoofers and 60 watts of amplification under the hood. Frequency response is nothing to write home about at 100Hz to 16KHz, and I can’t imagine that stereo imaging will be very good, given the design. However, if you’re looking for a sleek way to incorporate an iPod sound system into your room, this one looks as good as anything out there.

You can head over to Techabob for a little more on the tower HERE.

Or you can hit up Sharper Image and pick one up HERE.

A piano as sculpture

The M. Liminal from Italian piano maker Fazioli is definitely unique looking, without any loss of sound. From the web site:

"The music of shape and the design of sound are created in the M. Liminal model, designed by NYT Line and Philippe Gendre.

Just as consonance and dissonance are organised in music, M. Liminal's shapes and colours are combined in asymmetric but orderly designs.
Inspired by the sea, the shape of the side evokes the profile of a wave while the black-silver colour that of a dolphin.
The red of the soundboard and black of the cast iron frame filter through the transparency of the plexiglas music stand."

Gizmodo's post, pictures, and a video of the piano in action can be found HERE. Or you can head over to the Fazioli site HERE and have a look around.

Pandora Internet Radio

Pandora is a "music discovery service". The idea is that you tell them your favorite songs or artists and they'll stream songs to your computer that are similar. The music they send you doesn't rely on what's popular, or what genre it's from, they work to hopefully send you music you'll love. Over time, you can give the site feed back (like or don't like) for better results.

The service is free if you don't mind the ads, or just $36 a year to be commercial free. You can find out more on the site HERE.
