The Ducati Streetfighter

Ducati has released a teaser for the new bike on it's site HERE, and further details on the bike will be coming soon I'm sure.

What we do know is that the bike will come in two differnt models, the regular Streetfighter and the S version. Both will come with a water-cooled 1099cc V-Twin engine that will produce 155 horsepower and 87.5 lb-ft of torque. The S model will be the more upscale version, and is rumored to come with Öhlins suspension upgrades and Marchesini forged aluminum wheels; bronze-painted frame, wheels and swingarm; carbon fiber bits and electronics such as standard traction control and data acquisition.

The base model will probably start out in the mid-teens price wise, but nothing solid has been announced yet. It's currently scheduled to be released sometime in the Spring of 2009.

The Confederate Limited-Edition Fighter Motorcycle

This is a pretty unique looking bike. It's being sold exclusively by Neiman Marcus, and here's what they have to say about it:

There's the startling, dare we say sexy, design that fuses raw power with crisp simplicity. It's an evolution of the machine, at once taken back down to its core elements while being reinvented and re-engineered for optimal performance. It's our street-legal sci-fi dream come to life, in the form of the limited-edition Fighter Motorcycle. Ours exclusively courtesy of Confederate Motor Company®, the first ever Fighter packs 190 mph of performance into its cutting edge carbon fiber, titanium, and aluminum chassis. There's the 64" wheelbase, 27"H seat, integrated braking system, lots of high-tech bells and whistles, and custom NM edition features. But, honestly, ride it once and you'll be too jacked up on adrenaline to remember all the details.

According to the Neiman Marcus, there will only be 45 of them made, and each costs $110,000. You can hit the Neiman Marcus site HERE for more info, or if you want more of the raw stats on the bike, you can hit the Confederate Motor Company HERE to read all about it.

The Brudelli 654L Leanster

This could be a pretty fun toy.

The Brudelli 654L Leanster is a new variation on the motorcycle which has a two-wheeled front end and a single rear wheel, giving the rider the stability and traction of a multi-wheeled vehicle. The two front wheels however, lean at an angle of up to 45 degrees, allowing the cornering of a motorcycle.

“Making 100 meter (326 feet) controlled powerslides at the local dirt track oval (speedway) is a quite unbeatable feeling. Especially when this is a street-legal vehicle that you actually came cruising with to the track.” says Geir Brudeli, the inventor of the Leanster and manager of Brudeli Tech.

“Then just a few minutes later you could be at a go-kart track without any change of setup, leaning 45 degrees into corners with a control superior to that of a normal motorcycle. The Leanster suspension is 100% mechanical and leaves the rider in control. It is built with the goal of boosting the motorcycle experience.”

The Norwegian company currently seels them in Europe for about $30,000 USD, and you can find out more about them, see a few more pictures and some video at their site HERE.

The Ferrari V4 Superbike Concept

Israeli industrial designer Amir Glinik has created a Ferrari motorcycle concept that's pretty impressive. The bike uses drive-by-wire technology, a modified "V4" based on the engine of a Ferrari Enzo car, hand controls adapted from an F-16 fighter jet and buttons based on those found on the steering wheel of Ferrari's Formula 1 racecars.

"Vintage and modern Ferrari projects influence my design," Glinik notes. "It's a mix of what I find to be the best Ferrari lines with the latest technology I could think of in terms of engine, gear and driving management."

Unfortunately there are no plans currently to actually produce any of the motorcycles beyond this concept. You can see more pictures of the motorcycle over at Luxist HERE, and a yellow version of the bike HERE.

Cirbin V13R Three-Wheeled Sports Vehicle

The Cirbin V13R started out as a Harley-Davidson V-Rod motorcycle. The cycle was modified to include two seats, a third wheel, and a fiberglass body. The three wheeler borrows a lot of tech from its Harley V-Rod roots, using both it's stainless steel 1.25-liter engine and its electronic instrument cluster up front and center. With the two up front wheels, the Cirbin is steered just like a car, and a 5-speed manual sequential gear shift has been added.

There are currently three models for sale, ranging from $50,745 to $55,495 and you can view all three at the Prestige Motors site HERE. There is some sound on the site, so you might want to turn down your speakers if you're at work.

Yamaha Tesseract

The Yamaha Tesseract is a concept motorcycle that's set to be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. The bike has four wheels for superior stability, and is a hybrid, haveing both a V-Twin engine and an electric motor. Yamaha says that the machine is almost the same width as a standard motorcycle, meaning lane-splitting could possibly remain an option and parking won’t be an issue. Also, the machine has a mechanism that helps the vehicle stand upright when stopped or parked. No word on when, or if, it will go into production.

Triketec’s V2 Roadster

If you're a big bike enthusiast this probably isn't for you, but if you're just looking for something fun to drive around here and there, and don't mind the $40k price tag, this might be for you.

The Triketec is a three-wheeler vehicle with a turbocharged inline three-cylinder engine, independent suspension at the rear, traction control and ABS braking. It weighs in at 1,227 pounds which make the 92 hp engine way too small in comparison to most bikes. As you can see the bike comes with two full seats though, making it more of a comfortable ride than most, and the three wheels means you never have to worry about the normal hazards of it's two wheeled cousins.

The company is based in Europe, and you can hit their site HERE

Orange County Chopper’s Intel Bike

Intel and  Orange County Choppers have created a custom-made, computer-based chopper that's pretty impressive. The 250-hp bike has dual V-twin engines and a fully embedded quad-core processor computer to manage all of the special add-ons to this bike.

The add-ons start with that the fact that there’s no ignition key. The motorcycle’s 5.6-in. LCD screen recognizes a fingerprint to de-activate security functions and allow access to the start button to fire up the engine. The touchscreen dash has a digital speedometer, tachometer, voltage meter, battery voltage gauges and turn-signal indicators. It also shows the rear-view images that come from the cameras mounted in the back, and used instead or rear-view mirrors. They even added in an electronically controlled, hydraulic kickstand.

The LCD and on-board computer do more than just tell you how fast you're going though. The PC has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB drives, a QWERTY keyboard and all Windows applications. You can use it to download music, videos and pictures, make presentations, check your e-mail, get directions, and play minesweeper if you wanted to. The bike's mobile PC is also detachable, and the battery charges anytime the bike is running.

You can see some bigger pictures, and read a little more about the bike, over at the Popular Mechanics site HERE

Ducati Sport 1000 Mono Special Edition

Ducati North America announced the release of their 2007 Sport 1000 Mono Special Edition, which is being produced exclusively for the North American market. Production of this model will be limited to just 100 (90 destined for the US, 10 for Canada) making it one of the rarest Ducati’s made in recent history.

The Sport 1000 SE is modeled after the legendary 1978 Ducati 900SS “Darmah,” and features the classic timeless Black and Gold paint scheme. Each motorcycle will be identified by a numbered plaque, that will be located on the triple clamp. The motorcycle also features a twin muffler “shotgun” exhaust, spoke wire wheels and Brembo brakes. It is powered by the 992cc dual spark motor, which puts out impressive torque and horsepower figures for an air-cooled engine.

You can find more information on the bike at the Ducati site HERE
