DOTD: Scotch Royale

A fairly simple recipe from Mixed-Drink. I might actually make this one without the bitters first, and see if they really need to be added.

Ingredients:1 1/2 oz Scotch, 1 cube Sugar, 1 dash Bitters, Chilled Champagne.

Directions: Place sugar cube in a champagne glass. Add scotch and bitters. Fill with champagne.

DOTD: The Reaper

I'm pretty sure this is another one of those drinks no one should ever drink. Unless it's on a bet, or your friend is already a little drunk, your feeling evil, and he a sucker for a dare.

Ingredients: 2 shots of 151 Rum, 2 shots of wild turkey 101,  2 ounces of hot sauce.

Directions:  Shaken with ice and strained into a rocks glass.

DOTD: Astronaut

This drink, from DrinksMixer, has an interesting mix of vodka and two different kinds of rum. That can't be a bad thing.

Directions: Pour the vodka, light rum and dark rum into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, and strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Add Sprite and a splash of pineapple juice. Serve with a twist of lime (or lemon), and serve.

DOTD: Roman Punch

It's getting warm out, and if your friends are anything like mine, invites to deck parties are starting to circulate. Today's drink, from Mixed-Drink, is set up to serve 20 people, 10 drinkers, or 5 lushes. Regardless of the number drinking, you can mix this before hand, show up, and be good for the evening. Though I have NO idea why you would need to put egg whites in this.

Ingredients: 1 750-ml. bottle of Rum, 1 750-ml. bottle of Champagne, 1/2 cup Curacao, 1 cup Lemon Juice, 3/4 cup Orange Juice, 1 tsp. Grenadine, Whites of a dozen eggs, Orange Peels.

Directions: Mix ingredietns into a chilled punch bowl with a block of ice and add egg whites before serving. Garnish with orange peels.

Directions: In a 12 ounce Tom Collins glass combine powdered sugar and 2 oz carbonated water. Stir. Fill glass with cracked ice and add rum. Top with carbonated water or ginger ale. Insert spiral of orange or lemon (or both) and dangle end over rim of glass.
