The Temperature Colored Faucet

I've seen a few of the LED colored faucet, but this takes the idea a step further. The Guglielmi Temperatura Colorata faucet has a large cylindrical base and a circular control, giving it a nice modern look. What sets it apart is that the faucet features an integrated LED light which reveals the water's temperature through the use of color. Cool water appears brilliant blue, warm water a vibrant violet, while hot is a fiery red. This makes it not only nice to look at, but also practical in that you don't have to keep sticking your finger in the water to see if it's too hot or cold.

You can check out other faucets by Guglielmi, and find distributors, at the Guglielmi site HERE.

Dragon BBQ Grills

Not only are the Dragon steel sculptures impressive on their own, they are also fully functioning barbeques.

Artist Ed McBride has created two welded steel dragon barbecues, with a third in the works. The first in the series was sold for $65,000 at the Safari Club International 33rd Annual Hunters' Convention. The second in the series is currently up for sale at $90,000 and will be the biggest of the three.

The second barbecue in this series will be a towering 9 feet in height with a 10 feet wide wingspan. A theatrical touch was added in that propane powered flames will erupt from between the dragon's teeth. Also, a small dragon is used to heat a dutch cooking oven with its "dragon breath." It's first, and maybe only, showing will be at the SCI convention in Reno, Nevada in January

The third in the series will be the smallest of the three, costing $40,000. It will be 6 feet in height and length, and is scheduled to be completed in late 2007.

You can read more about the sculptures and see what other things Ed McBride has created, at his website HERE.

Semi-Submereged Personal Habitat

The Jellyfish 45, designed by Giancarlo Zema, is a floating dwelling unit for up to six people. The habitat is 33 feet tall, a maximum width of about 49 feet, and five levels connected by a center spiral staircase.

The top level is set up as a study, the next level down contains the night time zone (bedrooms), while the next and largest level is a daytime zone (livingroom) with a kitchen and bathrooms. The lowest living level is semi-submerged and has as a  guest room, bathroom and technical spaces.

The Jellyfish 45 is of course set up for all the comforts of home, and is definitely a unique place to live or just vacation. The cost is currently set at $2.5 million, and you can learn more about the Jellyfish 45 at the companies site HERE.

The Qube - An Outdoor Room

The Qube is basically another room of the house that you put in the backyard. It can be used as a garden office, garden studio, TV room, kids room, garden gym, outdoor party area or just a place to get away for a while.

The outside is made of Western Red Cedar and the inside is built with structural insulated panels then plaster boarded and skimmed, ready to be painted. The front doors on the Qube are bi-fold aluminum that can be fully opened, and the floors can have a laminate flooring, solid oak or carpeted finish

The company that makes these will create them in just about any size you want, and there are a number of options. You can add a kitchenett, a second story, or a rooftop deck just to name a few. They can also be connected to your electricity, gas, or water allowing you to make it a comfortable as you want it to be.

The Qubes are made in the U.K., and at the moment are only available there. I'm sure they would give you a quote though to ship one out to where ever you are. You can hit their main site HERE to look around.

Epson Ensemble 1080 Home Theatre for your house

Setting up a home theater can be quite a task. To make things easier, Epson has created an all in one home theater package that includes everything you need to get up and running. Epson’s Ensemble Home Cinema system includes a 100 inch motorized screen, a 5.1 surround sound system custom designed by Atlantic Technology that includes a 10 inch subwoofer, an AV controller with dual HDMI inputs that can also upconvert to 1080p, and a built-in progressive scan controller. Also included in the package are every cable you need to connect all of the components, mounting brackets, and management tracks to discreetly hide all of the cables and wires.

The Ensemble Home Cinema System is set to hit the shelves in November, and will be about $7,000 for the 1080p system.

The Comfy Computer Chair

This chair was designed for the ultimate comfort during long periods of surfing the internet, or playing games. Here's a rundown of the design from the site:

NETSURFER emerged from SNOWCRASH´s search for new forms of furniture compatible with new technologies. Abandoning the conventional combination of chair and desk, the NETSURFER rethinks our relationship to the computer and our surfing requirements.

The semi-reclining position with the screen at eye level is designed to be comfortable for long periods. Pillows support the neck and lower back, arms and legs are supported on adjustable arm and footrests.

There's not much more information on the idea, but you can see the rest HERE.

Classic Car Furniture

The company Route66 takes original rear ends from classic cars, restors them, and then turns them into a car couch, desk, or bar. The rear and back up lights even light up.

They have a nice portfolio of some the couches that they have already made, and if your interested in ordering one, you can give them the car make and color, and they'll track it down for you.

You can see the rest of the pictures, and put in an order if there's something you're interested in, at the site HERE.

Pop-Up TV-Liquor Cabinet

I would guess that the TV is going to be a little too small to really watch as a main entertainment center, but that doesn't cut down on the coolness factor.

Auton Motorized Systems makes a rack and pinion drive, and the television/liquor cabinet is one of the many creative uses that one of their customers have come up with. The systems come in all different sizes and weight that they can lift, so it's possible that you could build your own design to hold something like a 42-inch plasma.

This cabnet was made by Unique Laminate & Wood Products, and their address and contact information, plus more about the Auton system, can be found HERE.

You can also see a gallery of things people have made with the system HERE.

Everything You Need For Your Home.

There's a lot of great stuff out there to make your home uniquely yours. How do you find all of the stuff you've dreamed of? You go to Home Portfolio.

When I first head or ran across the site, I thought it was going to be just a group of cool stuff to look through. That was quickly changed when I clicked on a picture of one of the appliances. The fridge I had selected popped up, and said that it was number 103 of 64,788. Clicked on a faucet, and it was number 1 of 16,263.

A little overwhelming, but they do seem to have pretty much everything you could ever want. The site also give you stats, model number, suggested retail price, and where you can buy the item. If your just looking, and find something you like, you can create and save the items to your profile. They even have design themes to give you some ideas to get started with.

I'm not all that excited about the bathroom fixtures section at all, but I'm interested that a search on "wine" brought up 1363 matches.

CMC Wraith

The Confederate Motor Company has created The Wraith. It has a nice 125hp engine, and weighs in at 390lbs. so it can get you where you're going. The bikes not really about power or speed, but the design, overall look, and the fact that only 250 of them have been made to date.

You can read a little bit about the history of the bike, catch an array of pictures, and the technical aspects over at the CMC site HERE
