Live In A Tricycle Concept

This is strictly a concept, so there's not a whole lot of detail about how it would actually work. It is a cool looking idea, and here's a little bit about it from the designer:

This is my bachelor thesis in Industrial Design which I have finished this month. Basically it is the transformation of a Piaggio APE 50 tricycle into a small one man camper. Corresponding to my field of study particular attention is paid to the design of the vehicle.

You can check a number of more pictures over at the CGPortfolio site HERE.

Embassy Pen – Hard Steel That Always Writes

I'm not really sold on the price, but this is a really cool pen. Here's the details:

Welcome all pen collectors and all-purpose pen users. We are fortunate enough to offer the new Embassy Pen after recently acquiring a small batch from a government contract. The pen is robust and made to last a lifetime; whether it's on the training field or in the office. A black medium SPR4 pressurized Fisher Space Pen refill, good from -30F to +250F is included. The machined deep knurled grip is made for non-slip use. The built in 301 grade stainless steel clip provides a secure fit in your front shirt pocket or in your EDC bag.

The pen costs $38.50, and each of the refills cost $5. Again, and little expensive, but for a one time purchase it's probably worth it.

You can grab one at the site HERE.

The Mutewatch

As watches go, this one isn't actually that stylish. In fact, it's kind of plane looking. However, functionality wise, it sounds awesome.

Here's some of the details:

Touch interface

To activate Mutewatch – just tap the flat surface and a hidden screen will appear. Now use your fingers to navigate through the functions – swipe horizontal to scroll between timer, clock and alarm.

To set a time for a desired vibration – when the digits appear, just swipe your finger vertically along each of the digits or tap on the top or bottom part of the digits until the correct time is shown on the screen.

To delete an alarm you’ve set – just pinch it and it will be erased.

USB

Mutewatch uses a standard USB port to charge, just plug it into your computer or USB compatible charger.

Colours
Mutewatch comes in three colours, selected for time-less elegance. Laidback Charcoal Grey, striking Pure White and invigorating Poppy Red.

No release date yet, but they'll cost €199, which is around $254 USD at the moment. You can check out the watch, and even pre-order one, at the site HERE.

Artisan Hotel, Las Vegas

This place is a little off the strip, on Sahara drive at the top of the Strip. Not so far out though that you couldn't pay a cab ten bucks to get you to TI or the Mirage.

Not sure on the cost per night, but it might be worth it if your looking for something a little different next time you go to Vegas. Here's a little bit about the place:

The ARTISAN experience begins as the valet greets you and draws open the heavily gilded gothic doors. Stepping into the ornate art-filled lobby, you are instantly transported to another world. You’ll blink as your eyes adjust to the light from sparkling chandeliers and flickering candles:  it’s 1914, the Parisian Left Bank, an elegant and mysterious world of art, absinthe, and decadent indulgence. Day becomes night and everything you can imagine is real! For pleasure (or business!) The ARTISAN is Las Vegas’ exceptional non-gaming hotel boutique, bistro, and ultra-lounge.

You can check out more pictures of the place HERE.

The Quadski High Speed Amphibian

This thing is incredibly cool. No idea what one will cost. Here's some of the details:

Gibbs Technologies, the world’s only High Speed Amphibian (HSA) technology specialist, today unveiled a prototype of the first commercially viable high-speed personal sports amphibian – Quadski.

Quadski is the third demonstration of Gibbs’ HSA technology following the successes of the Aquada and the Humdinga. It is capable of travelling up to 50 mph (72 kph) on land and water and makes the transition at the flick of a switch.

Commenting on the launch of the Quadski prototype, Alan Gibbs, the founder of Gibbs Technologies said, “Quadski is both exciting and practical with a multitude of uses”.

“I know consumers will love the fun of driving a Quadski on land one minute and then head straight into the sea or river the next. But there is a very serious side to Quadski as well: emergency services and aid workers will be able to reach areas and people no two or four wheel drive vehicle could reach.”

You can check out a lot more of it HERE.

The Hyper-Sub

No idea on how much this will cost, but I'm betting it's not going to come cheap. Here's the details:

Marion Hyper-Submersible Powerboat Design is proud to introduce the Hyper-SubT Submersible Powerboat, a revolutionary new vessel with a design flexible enough to open the seas to industry and to individuals in ways never before thought possible. The Hyper-Sub is the first small craft built with the horsepower, sea-keeping, and range to allow operation on the high seas, which also functions as a self-charging, autonomous, one-atmosphere submarine. The patented design, which was 31 years in the making, will forever alter the mini-sub industry.

In the simplest of terms, this is accomplished by combining tested, ABS-certified* submersible design and components with the lifting and payload capacity of a heavy-duty, 31 foot surface-cruising powerboat. However, the combination of these elements creates a vessel that is much greater than the sum of its parts. The Hyper-Sub will not only re-define the market for small manned submersibles, it will set an entirely new standard for small craft safety.

Explore the menus above to discover more about the Marion Hyper-Sub, or contact us for additional information about the program or to reserve a production model.

Snarling Wolf Sword Cane

A sword cane isn't exactly practical anymore, that doesn't mean I still don't want one.

Sword Demon has a number of great looking canes, with everything from the wolf's head pictured here, to more traditional wooden headed hook canes. Here's the details about this one:

This gentleman cane is a classic creation for the sword cane enthusiast. Engineered for heavy duty use and guaranteed to last a lifetime. This fully functional piece is uniquely designed with a cast aluminum handle providing a sturdy grip for those evening strolls. The 21 1/2 blade is constructed from 420 stainless steel and features a razor sharp edge. The blade slides smoothly into a black aluminum shaft designed for an elegant appearance. 35 overall

You can check all of them out, and a large number of other swords they have, at the Sword Demon site HERE.

The E430 ‘Electric Aircraft’

I think this is a great idea. Not sure how much of a range it has with only a maximum of three hour flight time, but it's still better than driving. Here's the details:

The E430 is a twin seat, single engine, LSA class aircraft designed to be simple to use, easy to fly and with virtually zero vibration, it's very smooth.
Low noise, no emissions, no fuel, extremely low maintenance and best of all. . . . . it’s environmentally friendly.

Electric flight, once seen as futuristic, has arrived and with E430’s flight times of between 1.5 and 3 hours (depending on configuration) electric flight now becomes a realistic power source for sport aviation. Charging times of 3 hours for as little as $5 make electric a really low cost way to fly and with only 2 main moving parts in the motor (the bearings) the reliability and maintenance are like nothing seen before.

Add to that the delight of smooth, quiet powered flight or silent using its 25:1 glide ratio  - the E430 is in a class of its own.

You can read more about it, watch some videos, and so on at the web site HERE.

ColdAvenger Expedition Balaclava

This is a great idea, but I'm not sure that I would actually wear one. Mostly just because it looks like your ready for a chemical attack of some sort, rather than just trying to keep warm.

The mask's main function is helping you breathe in cold weather. The mask makes the air that you breathe in 40°– 60°F higher than the outside temperature. It also helps protect your head from the cold, keeps moisture away from your face, and has enough space in the mask for a hydration tube and/or a headset and mic.

The mask is $80, which seems like a pretty decent price to me. You can grab one over at the Talus Outdoor site HERE.

The Martin Jetpack

The jetpack is pretty impressive. It has a range of 31.5 miles, at a maximum speed of 63mph. You can get it up to a height of 8000ft, and is considered an ultralight, so you don't need a pilot's license.

The jetpack has a natural degree of stability. In fact the aircraft is so stable, that one of the confidence building exercises trainee pilots try is to “let go” of the controls and fly “hands free”. When they do this the aircraft stops and maintains a stable hover.

The Martin Jetpack is also equipped with a 'Ballistic Parachute'. If something happens, the pilot pulls a toggle and a small propellant (similar to one used in a car airbag) is fired rapidly deploying a parachute. The pilot, Jetpack and parachute descend as one.

There hasn't been a cost announced for the jetpack, but you can guess it's probably going to be pretty pricey. You can check out video of the jetpack in action, and get more information about it, over at the website HERE.
