I don't know a whole lot about these fighters, but it looks like HBO has a pretty good line up of matches this Saturday.
The other two matches I saw mentioned were Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Olivier Lontchi and Chris John vs. Rocky Juarez.
Here's a little bit about the main bout from the HBO site:
HBO Sports serves up a hot twin bill when HBO BOXING AFTER DARK: VICTOR ORTIZ VS. MARCOS RENE MAIDANA is seen SATURDAY, JUNE 27 at 10:00 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT), from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, exclusively on HBO.
The main event features an intriguing 12-round junior welterweight showdown between hot prospect Victor Ortiz (24-1-1, 19 KOs) from Oxnard, Cal. and Marcos Rene Maidana (25-1, 24 KOs) of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Last seen on HBO in March, when he scored a standout win over Mike Arnaoutis, Ortiz is meeting the his most formidable opponent to date. The winner of this 140-pound showdown will fast-track through the talent-rich division.

It sounds like this was a pretty good fight. Here's a little bit of the details from the HBO site:
In a battle of blood and guts, Puerto Rican favorite Miguel Cotto overcame 12 rounds of desperation and danger Saturday night before coming away with a split decision victory against Joshua Clottey to retain the his welterweight crown.
Judge Tom Miller scored it 114-113 for Clottey, while John McKaie 115-112 and Don Trella 116-111 both favored Cotto.

I really have no idea if this fight would be worth watching or not. It's not on PPV, so that might tell you something. Here's the details from HBO:
HBO Sports delivers a New York City knock-out of a prizefight with a welterweight title on the line when WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING: MIGUEL COTTO VS. JOSHUA CLOTTEY is presented live SATURDAY, JUNE 13 (10:35 p.m. ET/7:35 p.m. PT) from Madison Square Garden, exclusively on HBO. The WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING team will be ringside for the event, which will be presented in HDTV and in Spanish on HBO Latino.
Puerto Rican sensation Miguel Cotto (33-1, 27 KOs), returns to The Garden hoping to record another victory at the world's most famous arena on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day parade. In this venerable sports institution he has tasted memorable triumphs against Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, Paul Malignaggi, Mohamad Abdulaev and most recently, captured his second welterweight crown with a convincing knockout victory against top-rated Michael Jennings in February. Eleven months after absorbing the only loss of his stellar career in the hot spotlight of Las Vegas, the popular Cotto, 28, will be looking to regain momentum in the debate over who is the premier welterweight in the world as he defends his crown in this hot 12-round showdown.
Ghana native Joshua Clottey (35-2, 20 KOs), who now lives in the Bronx, has the potential to establish himself as an elite welterweight with a victory over Cotto. With durability and intense physicality, 31-year-old Clottey achieved prominence after winning his first 20 fights and last year captured his first welterweight title by defeating former undisputed champ Zab Judah. Despite two losses, Clottey has become a feared competitor in the division and is a high-risk, often-avoided opponent who consistently brings his A-game. Delighted at the opportunity to fight for the first time at the Garden, Clottey is sure to bring heat in this highly anticipated clash of powerhouse welterweights.

Pacquiao was just way too fast for Hatton, and pretty much wailed him for two rounds.
Hatton was knocked down twice in the first round, and then a left hook in the second round knocked him out. Hatton laid flat on his back in the middle of the ring, and the ref called the fight without even counting to ten.
Really not the fight I thought it would be. I really thought this was going to be much more of a war, and it go at least eight rounds. Pacquiao was just hitting him whenever he felt like it, and there just wasn't anything Hatton could do.
You can hit East Side Boxing HERE, or HBO HERE to read some of the details.

This could be an incredible fight. I'm already making plans to catch it someplace. The fight is this Saturday night, on HBO PPV, starting at 9 p.m. ET.
A hero in his native Philippines, the 30-year-old Pacquiao (48-3-2, 36 KOs) is regarded by most boxing observers as the sport's unofficial pound-for-pound king. Demonstrating knockout power in five weight classes, his recent victory over his boxing idol, ring legend Oscar de la Hoya, was cause for national celebration in his homeland. Amid growing worldwide celebrity, he returns to the 140-pound division to take on the hard-hitting Hatton.
Hailing from the streets of Manchester, England, Ricky Hatton (45-1, 32 KOs) has a tenacious fighting style and a devout following. The 30-year-old suffered his only professional loss in December 2007 when he battled future Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather Jr. as a welterweight. Now back in the junior welterweight ranks, he wants to prove himself the most formidable fighter in the division.

I wonder if this fight pretty much means the end of Taylor?
From the reviews, Taylor was ahead in the fight. Froch won the fight, with only 14 seconds left in the last round, when the ref stopped the fight. Taylor was ahead on two of the score cards, 106-102 and 106-102, so if the ref had let the fight keep going just the last 14 seconds, taylor would have won.
Carl Froch retained his World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight world title, and moved up to 26-0, with 21 KOs.

I'm somewhat interested in this fight. I like Taylo, and I'd like to see him do well. Here's the details from the fight pulled from the Showtime site:
A household name in his native England, talented, undefeated Carl Froch will look to make a major statement — and enhance his reputation in America — when he defends his WBC super middleweight title against one of the most highly regarded and recognizable fighters of this generation, former undisputed middleweight belt-holder Jermain Taylor. The task, however, will not be simple for Froch, who won the 168-pound title one start after appearing on ShoBox: The New Generation. Taylor, a bronze medalist for the United States in the 2000 Olympic Games, has had a prolific pro career. Taylor, who earned this shot by dominating Jeff Lacy, has defeated four former world champions and is the only boxer to twice whip future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins. The winner of what will be an excellent scrap could fight next in a world title elimination bout in a division that is one of the deepest, most interesting in boxing today. You can bet that current super middle champs Mikkel Kessler and Lucian Bute will be riveted to their television sets to watching Froch-Taylor — and so should you!
The fight is this Saturday, and begins at 9PM ET.

I can't really say that I'm all excited about this fight.I'll probably try and catch it anyway, and hopefully I'm surprised. Here's a little about the fight:
Battle-tested veteran Ronald "Winky" Wright (51-4-1, 25 KOs), the most-avoided fighter of the last decade, is a former junior middleweight champion who has scored back-to-back wins against Shane Mosley, as well as defeating Felix Trinidad. A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., he is one of boxing's elite defensive specialists, with a precise jab that picks apart opponents. Although he suffered a decision loss to future Hall-of-Famer Bernard Hopkins in 2007, the 37-year-old Wright will make younger fighters earn their spot among boxing's best.
Two time welterweight champ Paul Williams (36-1, 27 KOs) of Augusta, Ga. is one of the most-feared fighters in boxing. Now on the cusp of stardom, the 27-year-old's height, agility and raw power have made foes think twice about even entering the ring with him. Williams has defeated Antonio Margarito, among others, and now looks to raise his profile in this 12-round contest.
The fight is set to start at this Saturday, April 11th, 2009 at 10PM.

As a big boxing fan, this might be the best Vegas contest I've ever posted.
The Grand Prize is a 4-day/3-night trip from 4/30/09 to 5/3/09 to Las Vegas, Nevada to for the winner and guest to attend the Pacquiao vs. Hatton PPV event on 5/2, plus the official weigh in, taping of Extra with Mario Lopez, screening of the 24/7 finale and pre-fight party. Prize includes hotel accommodations for three nights (1 room, double occupancy) and round-trip coach air transportation from gateway airport nearest winner's home.
Not a lot of other bells and whistles with this one, but it would be awesome to see this fight. It has the possibility to be the fight of the year, and could be an instant classic.
The contest runs through April 22nd, 2009, and you can enter it HERE.

Looks like this was just announced. The fight isn't until May, and I'm already looking forward to it. I'm pretty sure this is all from the press release, but I pulled it from East Side Boxing:
The anticipation is growing and the stage is now set for two of boxing’s biggest stars, Ring Magazine’s number one ranked pound for pound fighter MANNY “Pac Man” PACQUIAO and IBO and Ring Magazine World Junior Welterweight Champion RICKY “The Hitman” HATTON to meet in “The Battle of East and West,” Saturday, May 2 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. These two boxing artists, who will rumble for Hatton’s World Junior Welterweight Championships, will have a 20 x 20 foot canvas to paint a black and blue masterpiece that the world is anxiously waiting to see. Pacquiao and Hatton boast a combined record of 93-4-2 (68 KOs), a winning percentage of 94% and a victory by knockout ratio of 73%. The bout will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT..
