Agwa De Bolivia Liquor

AGWA de BoliviaI have no idea how this would actually taste, but I'd love to give it a shot sometime. Here's the press release:

AGWA de Bolivia is made with wild Bolivian coca leaves that are hand-picked at 2000 meters in the Andes and shipped under armed guard in 2000 Kilo bales to Amsterdam to be macerated and de-cocainized. The potent high strength flavor formula is reduced to 60 proof, bottled and then shipped around the world more conventionally.

Agwa de Bolivia might be green but it's not naive! It has already built cult status in 35 states across the country and those lucky enough to visit the Red Light district of Amsterdam can see the Agwa museum. Experience the intriguing history of the Bolivian Coca Leaf and its ancient rituals of Coca Leaf chewing that date back over 4500 years ago. Learn about the Bolivian way of life, the nutritional benefits of the Coca Leaf, and the misuse of the leaf through the illegal manufacturing of Cocaine. Located in the heart of Amsterdam, Warmoesstraat 32, you can take a stroll around the museum and check out old artifacts and advertisements endorsing narcotics before they were made illegal in the 1970's. Visit on line at: http://www.agwabuzz.com/museum

The signature drink is the Bolivian Kiss (a simple fresh lime ritual) just bite a lime wedge then drink the AGWA de Bolivia and feel the buzz. Drinking AGWA with lime replicates the South American practice of chewing the coca leaf. The lime changes the pH of the mouth allowing secondary coca leaf alkaloids to be activated and creates an oxygen buzz.

  1. I have tried this stuff and absolutely loved it. Was drinking with lime as a shooter but mates were drinking it with Coke and it went down a storm. Bought it from a local store.. It does taste really different to anything else I have drunk.
