The new supercar has a 4.5-liter V8 engine that produces 570hp. The engine can rocket the car from zero to 62mph in less than 3.4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 202mph.
The car also has a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and direct injection technology that lower the car’s CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.
You can read more about the car over at Motor Authority HERE.

I'm heading out to San Diego, CA on vacation for a week, and while I'm gone, posting will be suspended.
I promise that Vicepost will be back up and running next Tuesday, July 28th. Until then, I might post some things to the twitter page that you can check out HERE. I can't make any promises, but I'll give it a shot.
Talk to all of you soon.

This is an interesting site. I'll be very interested to see if it works. Here's the press release:
A revolutionary new way to buy a home will be unveiled on July 19, 2009. 10DollarHomeDeals.com, an Orange County based company, believes that it will turn the real estate market on its ear with its very first real estate reverse auction, where the lowest bidder, not the highest bidder will walk away with a move-in-ready home at a fraction of it's market value – possibly as little as just $10.
Anyone, anywhere in the world can participate in the bidding process. After placing a $10 bid credit, the bidder can place a bid, which represents the price they think will be the lowest bid, not also bid by any other bidder – this is termed the low-solo bid. The bidder with the low-solo bid, will be deemed the winner at the end of the 21-day auction, exactly at 7:07pm (Pacific Time) on August 9, 2009.
The first home to be auctioned in the US via the reverse auction process will be 2124 W. 105th Street, Cleveland, OH 44102 and bidders will soon be able to place bids on homes around the country, including California.
David Barnes, President of 10DollarHomeDeals.com, developed this new way of selling real estate by watching reverse auction giants, such as Dubli.com, auction commodities like iPods and cars in a very similar way. Barnes reflected that a reverse auction is the perfect answer to putting people back in affordable homes, while rehabbing dying neighborhoods around the country, especially with the real estate market the way it is. "It's a win-win for everyone," he said.
Whether the bidder is a private buyer and wishes to live in the home, or s/he is a real estate investor who would like to collect rent, 10DollarHomeDeals.com provides an easy and fun way to purchase property way below market value. Buyers will not only walk away with incredible amounts of instant equity, but can live free-and-clear of mortgage payments for life. For those who still need a little financial assistance and do not have the funds to cover the full purchase price/bid price, Barnes is willing to offer seller financing – leaving no family behind.
Barnes is also developing new and innovative ways to include fund-raising opportunities for nonprofits. A single home will be auctioned on the site with a portion of the proceeds going directly to a specified nonprofit. 10DollarHomeDeals.com will set the precedence for community consciousness in an industry that currently has a bad rap. Real estate may no longer be seen as a me-and-mine business, but as a you-and-yours one. Barnes philosophy was said best by John F. Kennedy, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country."
Barnes believes that there is no other way to buy move-in-ready residential real estate in a faster, better and cheaper way than with 10DollarHomeDeals.com and invites the public to learn more. If you'd like additional information on how to participate in an auction or on 10DollarHomeDeals.com, please email David Barnes directly at dbarnes at 10DollarHomeDeals.com.

I'm a little bit of a space nut, so I'd love to have one of these. Here's the details from the press release:
As we celebrate the historic moon landing of Apollo 11 on July 20, Fisher Space Pen Co. is making available 1,000 limited edition AG7-40LE Space Pens. The pen is designed as a replica of the historic anti-gravity model pen that was invented by company founder, Paul C. Fisher, in 1966 and flew aboard the Apollo missions.
The 40th anniversary pen features a piece of “Kapton” foil, used as protective thermal insulation on the Apollo 11 Command module, Columbia, which carried the astronauts to the moon and back. This rare artifact floats in a water-clear acrylic dome sealed into the pen’s cap.
The presentation case tells the historic story of the Apollo 11 mission as well as other monumental moments in human spaceflight. The iconic photo of Neil Armstrong’s first step on the moon is replicated in a resin casting of the footprint inset into the hinged lid. And, an innovative magnetic pedestal allows the pen to sit on its own “launch pad” for display when the lid is closed. The story continues on the sides of the case with a band of plated stainless steel and is engraved with a timeline that tells the moment-by-moment story of the mission’s key events, from launch to splashdown.
The pen is finished with black titanium nitride. The detailed engravings inlayed with 24-karat gold include the pen’s sequential serial number, the names of the Apollo 11 crew and the image of an astronaut planting the American flag into the lunar surface.
The Fisher AG7 Space Pen, featuring Fisher’s sealed and pressurized anti-gravity ink cartridge, has been issued to astronauts for NASA human spaceflights since 1968.
“The 40th anniversary of the moon landing presented the perfect opportunity to respectfully honor my father’s invention and the useful role it has and continues to contribute to human space exploration,” said Cary Fisher, company president. “I believe he would be delighted and proud to offer 1,000 people the opportunity to own a piece of history from that remarkable era.”
The limited edition ball-point pen and display case is US $800, and is available for advance purchase at www.spacepen.com or call 702-293-3100.

I had the good fortune of getting a bottle of this, and I'm very happy I did. From the promotional material, it's the #7 vodka in the world, and received the Gold Medal, 95-point Exceptional rating and 'Best Buy' award by the Beverage Testing Institute. I can see why.
Sobieski is very smooth. That was the most impressive thing about it. I tried it as a strait shot, martini, and a mixed drink. Most of the vodka I like strait or as a martini, are the middle range Vodkas like Ketel One, or Grey Goose. I've never really had a vodka that would be concidered high end, that I felt was really worth the money. Sobieski is easily on par or better than those I mentioned, which surprised me. Add to the fact that Sobieski runs around $12 a bottle, and it's definitely a spirit that you need to add to your home bar.
You can read more abour Sobieski over at the main site HERE.
My recommendation is that if your a vodka fan, go out and grab a bottle, and see how well it matches up to what you normally drink. I bet that you'll have a new favorite by the end of the night.
Below is their sales pitch, and I couldn't agree more:
Vodka made from grapes? A bottle from the hottest designer? A race to distill one more, two more, five more times than the next guy? A hefty price tag that magically transforms so-so vodka into something more, well, special? Are these things that make vodka truly superior? We beg to differ.
Sobieski Vodka has an exceptional story that doesn’t need all the gimmicks. It begins in Poland’s rich Mazowse fields where the golden Dankowski Rye is harvested. This grain has been recognized for centuries for its distinctive character. Our crystalline water from Oligocene springs contributes to the silky finish of this noble spirit. It is then continuously distilled, creating one of the purest and smoothest vodkas in the world.
Sobieski Vodka represents a careful blend of authenticity and modernity that enables us to meet the strict requirements of the Polish Product Origin Control System. In other words, making vodka in Poland, of Poland, is what’s required to call Sobieski true Polish Vodka. Or as you’d say it in Gdansk, Wódka Polska.
And while we feel your choice in vodka should be based on trying it and liking it, not someone else’s opinion, we will offer that Sobieski received a Gold Medal, 95-point "Exceptional" rating, and "Best Buy" award by the Beverage Testing Institute. Incidentally, that’s the same point rating awarded years ago to another vodka brand that loves to suggest it’s the best tasting vodka in the world.

I'm pretty happy with my current remote, but it's certainly not as impressive as this one. Here's a few of the details:
The revolutionary MX-6000 brings the power of WiFi networking to the home theater, without compromising simplicity. The MX-6000 is the first home theater remote control to offer two independent communications and control methods simultaneously. The MX-6000 provides both a narrow band 418 MHz transmitter for instant control of conventional home theater components and a WiFi transceiver for high speed transfer of cover art, artist, album and title metadata. The high speed of the built-in 802.11 B/G WiFi transceiver enables the MX-6000 to display lists of artists, albums or songs and to display the cover art of the selected album on the Now Playing screen of the remote control.
Instead of purchasing an expensive “Media PC” or dedicated music server, any PC with iTunes and/or Windows Media Player can be connected to your audio system to act as a high powered music server with the most engaging, intuitive user interface you’ve ever seen.
MX-6000 Server is a software application that once installed on a PC, combines your iTunes library with your Media Player library. The MX-6000 utilizes its network connection via WiFi to communicate with the server software on the PC. Since all communication happens at WiFi “G” speeds, there are no lags or delays displaying the information or lists on the screen of the MX-6000. All your cover art, artist, album and song title metadata appear on the screen of the MX-6000. Lists are navigated via the integrated scroll wheel without ever connecting a keyboard or mouse to the PC. At last, you have access to all the music you’ve paid for… all the music you want without the hassles… the music simply plays.
When the MX-6000 is connected to the Internet, pre-programmed modules enable instant access to personalized news, sports, weather and stocks. Unlike other devices, the MX-6000’s news, sports, weather and stocks modules are user-configurable without a programmer or a PC. On a whim, you can check out the opposing team’s scores, or get the weather forecast for a vacation destination. News, Sports, Weather and Stocks modules require that the MX-6000 be installed to a WiFi router with an Internet connection.
You can read more about it over at the Universalremote.comsite HERE.

I have a few flat panels, but haven't hung one up on the wall yet. This looks like a great mount for that. Here's the details:
The VisionMount ML11 Super Slim mount takes low profile to a new level. Its innovative design emphasizes the sleek look of ultra-thin LCD, plasma and LED TVs by placing them just .55" from the wall. Unlike other low-profile mounts on the market, the ML11 offers additional exclusive features that make it incredibly easy to install and use. ClickStand™ technology holds the bottom of the TV away from the wall for easy cable access without removing the TV from the mount. Convenient quick-release tabs on both mounting brackets stay hidden, but easily pull down to unlock the TV from the wall plate for cable access. The ProSet™ feature allows post-installation height and leveling micro-adjustments for perfect positioning after hanging. Lateral shift allows the TV to move left and right on the wall plate so it’s placed exactly where you want it, even with off-center studs. Universal mounting pattern fits virtually any 26" – 46" flat-panel TV up to 100 lbs.
They also have one for TVs up to 65-inches. You can check this out at the Sanus Systems site HERE.

The players at the WSOP Main Event are currently on a 90-minute dinner break as I write this. There are 29 players left, so only two more need to bust out for everyone else to make it to Day 8.
I decided not to use any names in this update, just in case someone is in avoidance mode. For the rest of you, I will say that there are two really big names left, and one of them is currently sitting in the number two chip spot.
By the time this post pops up on Wednesday they will already be down to 27, and getting ready to play to see who will sit at the final table.
You can check out the standings at the WSOP site HERE. I'll warn you though, the site is running pretty slow while they're playing.
