Rare 1937 Bugatti Found In A Barn

Bugatti Type 57S Atalante is one of the rarest Bugattis, with only 17 of them ever made, and a quarter of them are housed in a museum in rural France. Image their surprise when the children of Dr. Harold Carr found one of them in their father's garage.

The car was originally owned by Earl Howe, first president of the British Racing Drivers' Club, and it changed hands several times before coming into the possession of Dr. Carr, who appearently mothballed it.

The car is set to be auctioned off in February at Bonhams' "Retromobile" auction in Paris, and estimates on what it will sell for are varied, but some say it could go for as much as $8.8 million.

You can read more about the car, and see some pictures of the Bugatti in it's glory years, over at the Autoblog HERE.

I'll try and keep an eye out for the final price when the car does sell.
