This is a really good idea.
Give Real allows you to buy anyone you want a drink, over the internet. Here's how it works:
1. You log onto the Give Real site HERE, pick a friend, and then send them a drink credit anywhere from $1 to $99. You can also attach a personal message to it.
2. Your friend receives an email saying they have received a free drink. They log into the site, and register a debt or credit card with Give Real.
3. Now, when you friend goes out to any bar or restuarant, they pay the bill with the registered credit card, and the amount you sent them is credited to their account.
You've officially bought them a drink.
It's a cool idea, and since it's just adding a credit to your card, you can use it anywhere. They've even made it really easy to do, with a link to Facebook.
If there's someone you want to buy a drink for, just head on over to the site HERE and sign up.
I would of course be happy to receive a drink, so feel free to send one to admin-dot-vicepost-at-gmail-dot-com, and I promise to say really good things about you. In fact, as long as you're not trying to kill me, I'll even let you select the drink.

If you're a fan of Attack of the Show, or even if you're not, you should know who Olivia Munn is. Part goofball you can have fun with, part sexy girl you want to go home with.
Well, it seems Olivia loves pie, and is trying to get the last week of January named National Pie Week. As an incentive, she said that if her online petition received 10,000 signatures by the end of this week, she would jump into a giant pie.
The ten grand mark was hit almost in the first day, so they upped the ante a bit. If they received 25,000 signatures, Olivia would jump into the pie in a french maid outfit. That was enough to get me to sign it. However…
It's only Wednesday and they've already received over the 25k signatures for that. Well, the same day that they made the 25k announcement, they went a little crazy, and said that if they receive 50,000 signatures, she would nose die into the giant pie in a super sexy french maid outfit. The current plan is that the sexy outfit is pretty much a bra and miniskirt.
I thought I would help out, and see if I could send some signatures their way. Not only is it for a good cause (who doesn't like pie?) but the outfit and pie jump will be well worth it.
You can catch a video of their Wednesday show HERE where they talk about it.
More importantly, you can go and sign Olivia Munn's petition HERE.
Power to the pie.

There's a few interesting additions and changes for this year, but the final table delay is still there.
The World Series of Poker have released their 2009 schedule. There will be two more chances to win a bracelet this year, as the series will have 57 events this year. Two more than 2008.
There will also be a premiere $40,000 no-limit hold’em event to commemorate the 40th annual World Series of Poker. You can bet that all of the big names will be playing in that one.
One change this year is that all four of the 2008 re-buy events were removed. The reason, according to WSOP Communications Director Seth Palanksy, was that “There is the growing concern that a pro can buy a bracelet in a rebuy event.”
The Series starts on May 27, and the $10,000 main event will begin on July 3. The main event will again be suspended once they get down to nine players on July 15. The final table will be played from Nov. 7-10.
I'm not a fan of the four month layoff until the final table, but reports are that the 2008 TV ratings were up 50% over 2007, so I doubt it's going away anytime soon.
You can look through the whole schedule over at Cardplayer HERE.

Harley-Davidson's new Iron 883 has a fuel-injected 883cc V-twin engine, front fork gaiters, solo saddle and side-mounted license plate holder. It's also all decked out in black, which is never a bad thing. The price tag is also pretty decent too, as the Iron 883 will set you back only around $7,899.
Here's the press release:
HARLEY-DAVIDSON IRON 883™ IS DRESSED FOR A DARK RIDE
New Sportster® Motorcycle Takes the Stage with Aggressive Attitude
MILWAUKEE (January 26, 2009) – MILWAUKEE (January 26, 2009) – With a defiant attitude embracing the pure essence of riding, the new Iron 883 model is the latest Harley-Davidson® Dark Custom™ motorcycle.
Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycles like the Iron 883 have stood against the grain since their introduction in 1957, when the modern rebel culture was being bred from restless veterans and hot rod pioneers. Sportster motorcycles became the starting point for many legendary choppers of the 1960s, while also getting pumped up for championship dirt racing and dare devil stunt riding in the 1970s.
The Iron 883 model continues that rebellious tradition with responsive handling, smooth clutch effort and durable carbon reinforced drive belt while pushing the styling of motorcycling minimalism to the edge. Decked in black from fender-to-fender, the new Harley-Davidson Iron 883 motorcycle brings the beat of an 883 Evolution® engine backed up by a combo of gritty, old-school garage features like front fork gaiters, drag style handlebar and side-mount license plate holder. A ticket to ride the Iron 883 starts at just $7,899 MSRP, leaving plenty of freedom for customization.
"The Iron 883 defies the plastic conventions of other motorcycles at this price," said Mark-Hans Richer, Harley-Davidson Chief Marketing Officer. "It's got old school style, a new school ride and gives the owner a platform for creative customization."
The black powder-coated 883cc Evolution powertrain with black covers takes the Iron 883 deep into the heart of darkness. With Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) and performance tuning with a broad torque curve, the Iron 883 delivers plenty of power for the city scene. The pipes on the straight cut shorty dual exhaust flow the distinctive Harley-Davidson V-Twin sound.
The black chopped rear fender with its combination stop/turn/tail lights shows more of the 150 mm rear tire and black, 13-spoke cast aluminum wheel, while the front tire also rides on a black wheel. The rest of the Iron 883 gets a darker-suited presence with black front forks and fender supports, fuel tank, oil tank cover, belt guard, drag style handlebar and mid mount foot controls.
A one-piece, solo classic seat with a height of 25.3 inches fits the lone rider, while a passenger seat and a backrest in complementing black finishes can be added as accessories.
As the latest of the Harley-Davidson Dark Custom motorcycles, the Iron 883 is stripped down and ripe for custom creativity. Dark Custom motorcycle riders have the youngest average age for Harley-Davidson buyers. Soul mates of the Iron 883 include the Nightster®, Night Train®, Cross Bones®, Fat Bob® and Street Bob® motorcycles. Check out more on Dark Custom motorcycles at www.harley-davidson.com/darkcustom.
The Iron 883 is available in Black Denim and Brilliant Silver Denim colors.

Crushpad, a company that helps you make your own wine using grapes from California, Washington and Oregon may soon offer Bordeaux grapes.
The founder of Crushpad, Michael Brill, was recently in Bordeaux to meet producers and consultants, including Thibault Despagne and Stephen Derenoncourt. There's nothing final yet, but it sounds like they're really interested in putting something together.
Stephen Bolger, Crushpad's European managing director, told Decanter.com, "There is only a modest market for high end California wines outside of the US, but Bordeaux is universally loved.
"There are many winemakers in Bordeaux with great terroir and passion, but who maybe lack the marketing skills to differentiate themselves. It means that we have access to high quality fruit, and can help bridge the gap to get to market."
If Crushpad goes through with it, the bottles that are produced will be labeled with "AOC Bordeaux", rather than a specific appellation, which is the common way to pick a quality Bordeaux.
I will admit that I'm probably not going to be able to put up the five to ten grand Crushpad charges anytime soon, but I think it's a great move on their part. Especially since Bordeauxis generally one of my favorite wines.

This would normally be an easy buy at $200, except for the fact that there's also a $35 a month charge just to have the thing. It's still pretty cool though. Here's the press release:
FEBRUARY 1: VERIZON WIRELESS REIMAGINES THE HOME PHONE
Innovative Verizon Hub Helps Manage Busy Lives and Helps Users Stay Connected to Family and Community
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – In a dynamic move sure to rattle devotees of plain old home phones, Verizon Wireless will introduce the new Verizon Hub on Feb. 1. Only Verizon Wireless can launch a new touch screen home phone system designed to replace old-style home phones with a souped-up home communications system, bridging wireline and wireless connectivity in one simple service, that runs on any broadband connection – whether supplied by Verizon FiOS Internet or DSL or any other high-speed service provider.
Families with active lifestyles and virtually anyone who wants to stay current and connected need a tool that helps manage their communications, contacts and calendars simply and smartly – all from one easy screen. The Verizon Hub is poised to help pave the way for people to stay in touch and up to date with the information they need to navigate their increasingly busy days and nights.
“The Verizon Hub reinvents the home phone system that’s been centered on your kitchen counter for years. We’re bringing huge new functionality to a common household device that will unlock its true potential. And in the process, Verizon Wireless is updating the tools busy families can use to manage their lives,” said Mike Lanman, vice president and chief marketing officer at Verizon Wireless. “The Verizon Hub is going to change the way you think about what you want and need your home phone to do. Whether you’re thinking about getting rid of your home phone or can’t live without it, now is the time to try out the Verizon Hub.”
The Verizon Hub uses your existing broadband connection, and it’s quick to get it up and running. It will work with any open broadband connection from virtually any broadband provider – telecommunications or cable – anywhere in the United States.
Out of the box, the Verizon Hub will have all the calling features users expect from the most advanced home phones, plus visual voicemail and robust contact list management. Verizon Wireless has also added exciting messaging options, including text message calendar alerts and audible turn-by-turn directions delivered to Verizon Wireless phones from the Verizon Hub – with just a few simple taps on the screen.
Information will be at a family’s fingertips, literally from an easy-to-navigate touch screen with clear icons on the Verizon Hub. Families will start and end their days with nuggets of customized information from the Verizon Hub:
· Check local traffic and weather in the morning before leaving the house
· Update your calendar and automatically receive a text when an appointment changes or as a reminder not to be late
· Get directions to the new site when the location for soccer practice is moved
· Find the number of the new pizza parlor to order a pie
· Preview the trailers from an upcoming movie that you might want to take the family to over the weekend, then purchase tickets using the Verizon Hub
Families on the go can access all the information and functionality of the Verizon Hub remotely from a companion Web site, even adding calendar entries for family members and inputting new contacts from the Web site. The home-based Verizon Hub is instantly updated.
Verizon Wireless customers who bring the Verizon Hub into their homes can connect to popular applications including VZ NavigatorSM and Chaperone®, as well as incorporate their wireless devices through text, picture and video messaging between wireless phones and the Verizon Hub. New and exciting V CAST content will also be available on the Verizon Hub, and when not in use, the Verizon Hub doubles as a digital picture frame displaying all of your favorite photos.

Couple of things here:
First, if your not watching the show Burn Notice, you're seriously missing out on a great show. Plus, it's educational.
Second, I'm kind of upset that I haven't been able to track down one contest to send you to this year's Super Bowl, or at least to Vegas to watch (and of course bet on) the game.
Third, if you want a chance to go to next year's Super Bowl, Burn Notice is having a contest. I guess the tie-in here is that the show is set in Miami, and that's where next year's Super Bowl is.
The Grand prize is a three night/ four day trip for Grand Prize Winner and one guest to Miami, Florida. The Trip will consist of: Round-trip, commercial coach-class air transportation for two; Luxury accommodations for three nights at a hotel; Four day car rental; Two tickets to Super Bowl XLIV; $500.00 spending cash for the winner; and dinner for two at a local hot spot, and breakfast each morning.
Pretty good deal all around. The contest runs through March 11, 2009 and you can enter it HERE.
Now go set your Tivo's (or nameless not-as-good DVR's) to start recording Burn Notice.

Not exactly the best name for a contest, but it'll do.
The Sinatra.com site is having a contest to send you and a friend to Vegas for a couple of nights. The contest runs through February 14, 2009, and you can enter it HERE.
There's also ten Runner-Up Prizes, which is a copy of the CD Seduction: Sinatra Sings of Love (Deluxe Edition).
