Have A Happy Thanksgiving

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I wanted to wish everyone a happy one.

I also wanted to let everyone know that I won't be posting this Thursday or Friday because of the holiday, and since I normally don't post over the weekend, there won't be anything new until Monday December 1st.

Talk to you all then.

The $50,000 Umbrella

This is just crazy. Here's the scoop from Justluxe:

Billionaire Couture, the Italian men's "extreme luxury" brand founded by Formula One mogul Flavio Briatore and designer Angelo Galasso, has come out with the world's most expensive umbrella. Made entirely of black top-grade crocodile skin treated for water resistance, the oversized, ultra-luxe accessory costs $50,000, available by special order from Billionaire Couture's new London flagship in Sloane Street, SW1.

That's right, a $50,000 umbrella made of crocodile skin. Now, it's available only on special order, so I get that's it probably one of those things they don't think anyone will ever actually buy. So it's more than likely just a marketing ploy. If any press is good press, then let me help them out:

Anyone that would actually buy one of these needs beaten with it.

The Timex IRONMAN Sleek iControl

It might not be the coolest looking watch in the world, but it does have a very cool feature, it'll control your iPod.

The watch comes with a receiver that you connect to the bottom of your iPod. You can then use the watches buttons to play and pause your songs, forward and reverse tracks and turn the volume up and down.

They didn't skimp on the rest of the watch either. The watch has the INDIGLO night-light and is water resistant to 100m.It also tells you the day of the week, the date, the time in three time zones, two interval timers, three alarms and a countdown timer. Not bad.

You can check out Timex's flash site about the iControl HERE, or hit the normal site HERE to buy one. The current price of the watch on the Timex site is $100, but I'm sure you can find it for cheaper by hitting Amazon.

Wine Under The Stairs

This is one of those great ideas I wish I had though of first. It also goes on the list of things I want to build, but will probably never get around to it.

Vinotemp will build you a custom fitted wine cabinet that fits under your staircase. The cabinet comes with all the usual amenities such as redwood / Aluminum racking using the universal 3 3/4" size that will fit most bottle sizes, a Wine-Mate self-contained cooling system (1500BTU) and a digital temperature control.

How much wine the cabinet can hold is completely dependent on how much space you have. The cabinet is also made with wood customized to match your decor and you can choose either glass or solid doors.

Again, since this is a custom made cabinet, the overall cost is going to depend on the overall size. It's a great idea though, especially since the space under a staircase usually ends up being a small seldom used closet if your anything like me.

You can hit the Vinotemp site HERE to take a look at the cabinet, the wood choices and contect them if your seriously thinking about buying one.

Sandeman Offers Four Ports

The House of Sandeman is releasing a collection of Ports that includes their Ten-Years Old, Twenty-Years Old, Thirty-Years Old, and Forty-Years Old Tawny Ports. The collections is called the Porto Century Pack, and if you like Port, it should be well worth the money. Sandeman has a long list of awards too numerous to mention here.

The collection of four bottles come in their own wood carrying case, and sells for $349.

The unfortunate part is that you'll have to track down someplace that sells the Century Pack, as the usual suspects I looked at either didn't have it, or at least didn't have it yet.

The Porsche Panamera

Can't say I'm sold on the look of the 4-door Porsche. It's not that it's bad really, but I'm not really all that impressed with it either.

Full details on the car haven't been released yet, but a few things are known.

The Panamera will be about 16.3 feet long, about 6.3 feet wide, and weigh in at and weighing in at just under 4,000 pounds. There will be three engine choices when it launches, a 3.6L V6 base model with 300hp, a 4.8L V8 with 405hp, and a 4.8L Turbo model with approximately 500hp.

Base prices in Europe will begin at €80,000 ($100,000) for the V6 RWD model and go up to €125,000 ($156,000) for the Turbo AWD variant (prices in the U.S. tend to be lower than they are in Europe).

You can read more about the car and check out some more pictures over at the Motor Authority site HERE.

Hatton Beats Malignaggi in the Eleventh

Hatton spent a good majority of the fight wailing on Malignaggi from the sound of it. It was bad enough that after the tenth round, Malignaggi's trainer Buddy McGirt told Malignaggi he wasn't going to continue letting him take so much punishment, and would stop the fight. The eleventh round started and Malignaggi wasn't doing any better, so his trainer threw in the towel a mere 28 seconds into the eleventh round.

If you'd like a good breakdown of the fight, you can hit East Side Boxing HERE.

Paulie Malignaggi Vs. Ricky Hatton This Saturday Night

This has the potential to be a good fight I think. It's on regular HBO, so it's not a big fight. Good chance though that the winner of this one will be showing up against a big name fighter soon though. Here's the HBO rundown:

Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton of Manchester, England (44-1, 31 KO's) crosses the Atlantic once again to battle with Paul "The Magic Man" Malignaggi of Brooklyn, New York (25-1, 5 KO's) in a scheduled 12-round junior welterweight fight. Enormously popular in Manchester, Hatton is an aggressive brawler, who stands poised in attack mode from the opening bell, swarming his opponent with persistent punches. Hatton, who expanded his profile in America last December when he opposed Floyd Mayweather in a welterweight showdown, now returns to his natural weight of 140 pounds in an attempt to reassert his dominance in the division.

Affable and engaging, Paulie Malignaggi is known for his flashy style in the ring and his larger than life personality outside the ropes. He fights with quick combinations and a huge heart. Malignaggi, who earned a 140-pound title in 2007 when he decisioned Lovemore N'dou, never backs down from a challenge and he expects the national spotlight to reaffirm what he has always believed; that he is the best at 140 pounds.

The fight is this Saturday night, November 22nd, at 10:00 PM on HBO.
