Ardbeg Double Barrel Sctoch Case

Ardbeg has created a limited-edition release of the Ardbeg Double Barrel Scotch Whisky. The Scotch are from two different single casks of 1974 Ardbeg, which the company says is one of their most ambitious and complex so far. The case the two bottles are in though, is what really makes this interesting.

Inspired by the tradition of a British shooting party, the two bottles are in a handmade leather gun case. It has a hand-stitched bridle leather case is made in the UK by the same craftsmen who make gun cases for the world’s best gunsmiths, and each case is made to the same dimensions as a double-barrel gun case. The cases are numbered, and can be locked with a key.

Inside you'll find the Scotch, in hand-blown bottles that have ‘A’ and ‘1974’ embossed into the glass, and are wax sealed with the individual cask number. The bottles lie on their side in opposing positions. Next to them are eight sterling silver drinking cups, created in partnership with one of Scotland’s leading silversmiths, Hamilton & Inches. Lastly, each case comes with a sterling silver Omas pen and two hand-stitched leather-bound books. The pen is engraved with the Ardbeg ‘A’ on the silver barrel, has the Ardbeg knotwork on the clip and the pen’s outer barrel is made of mature oak. The books contain a 'Sampling Register' with full tasting notes of the 1974 cask bottlings, and ‘The Ardbeg Double Barrel’ story containing anecdotes about Ardbeg and stories about luxury country life.

Only 250 cases have been created, and the cost is right around $23,000.
