The Sony Giga Juke
Sony has introduced their new Giga Juke music system, which comes in a NAS-SC55PKE and NAS-E35HD version. Both versions come with an 80 GB Hard drive with approximately 40,000 song storing capacity, the ability to rip songs from CD, an AM/FM tuner, a 4.3 inch color display, docks to connect and transfer music to and from your favorite portable audio player (like your iPod), and has the xDJ software which intelligently analyzes tracks to categorize your music library into 27 different channels to suit any occasion – like ‘good morning’ for waking up, ‘party time’ for socializing, and ‘slow life’ to chill out in the evening.
The difference between the two version is the NAS-E35HD comes with a 4x CD player for ripping music, and 60W speakers. The NAS-SC55PKE version can rip CDs at 16x, has a network connection allowing you to use it as a network storage box and listen to internet radio stations, and it can deliver music wirelessly to up to five client players (only one is included in the package). With the wireless system, you can access the main server from anywhere in your home, and even listen to different songs in each of the five zones.
No word yet on pricing, or when the players will hit the shelves, but you can read a little more in the Sony press release HERE.
