Largest Music Collection In The World On Sale

This is pretty impressive.

Paul Mawhinney, the owner or Record Rama Sound Archives is selling his record collection that he started more than 40 years ago. Legally blind and fighting diabetes, he's selling the collection because he wants to spend more time with his five grandchildren.

The collection is made up of over 3 million records and 300,000 CDs containing more than 6 million song title. The collection is currently housed in a 16,000 sq.ft. climate controlled warehouse. Mawhinney's personal estimate is that it's at least worth $50 million.

Mawhinney would like the collection to go to a major library or museum, or someplace that will keep it intact, and a recent bid of $28.5 million fell through. Mawhinney then put the collection up on eBay, and it currently only has about an hour left with the high bidder at only $3.3 million.

You can read more about the collection at a site set up for the sale HERE, or the eBay auction HERE.
