As Lamborghini’s Murcielago supercar nears the end of its lifecycle, designers are planning to release a lightened version with even more horse power than the V12 641hp Reventon. Expected to be ordained with the special ‘SV’ title, used previously for the Diablo, the new model will weigh up to 220 pounds less than the current stock version.
The new version is likely to be RWD, dropping the front differential and driveshafts to save weight, and feature plenty of carbon-fiber. The interior will be stripped out and replaced with carbon, including the door innards, seats and center console. The automatic spoilers are to be replaced with a fixed carbon GT wing, and the stock wheels will be swapped with lightweight forged units. Shift times are expected to drop from the current 0.4 seconds to around 0.2 seconds with an upgraded E-gear.
Insiders are talking about as much as 680 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque from what may be the final iteration of a 6.5-liter V12 that traces its roots to the pre-Miura era.
You can read more about the car at Motor Authority HERE, or at Autoweek HERE.

I'm a little torn on this upcoming fight. First of all, if this fight had happened five or six years ago, there would be no question that I would be getting it. Today though, both of these fighters are somewhat past their prime and both have been beaten a few times. On the flip side of that, both are Hall Of Fame fighters that have had impressive careers.
I guess the biggest question is what's the fight for? A big payday for two fighters on the downslope of their careers or is it a chance to go out in a big fight? If they're looking for a payday, they might just get in the ring and dance the whole night. Neither fighter wanting to put himself out there. Or worse, one fighter wants the win, and the other just wants to survive and get his paycheck.
If both fighters really want to win this one, maybe as one last feather in their cap, it could become an instant classic. I have a feeling I'll end up giving them my money just on the chance a great fight breaks out. Here's the press release details:
"Two of the greatest boxers in history, Felix "Tito" Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr., will face each other in a battle boxing fans have been waiting for years to see at New York's famed Madison Square Garden. The bout will take place on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View."
you can read more about the fight, and their recent press conference, over at the Boxing Times site HERE.

I like a good cigar now and then, but I'm not really a smoker. For those of you that are, there's a new alternative to lighting up, seeing as you can do that fewer and fewer places these days.
The Crown7 is an Art Deco styled tube which contains a cartridge and rechargeable battery. The cartridge contains water, propylene glycol, nicotine, and a tobacco flavor. One Crown7 cartridge is the equivalent to about two packs of cigarettes. From the site:
"It is a wonderful invention that allows a person to virtually smoke anywhere! It contains nicotine, but does not pollute the environment, nor offend people in the surrounding area, bar, home, workplace, car, any situation which would be a public place."
You can read Cigar Jack's take on it at his site HERE, or head on over to the Crown7 site HERE.

Koenigsegg’s new CCXR supercar has the potential to topple the Buggati Veyron as the world’s fastest car. The CCXR will be sporting a cast-aluminum V8 engine capable of running on biofuel, which has the positive side effect of cooling the combustion chambers. The cooling, combined with a higher octane rating, provides the enviroment friendly supercar with 1,018hp at 7,200rpm and peak torque of 1,060Nm at 6,100rpm. All of that will get you from zero to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed that is said to be above 248.5 mph. The price is also comparable to the Buggati coming in at around $2.1 million dollars.
You can read a little more about the CCXR at the Motor Authority site HERE.
