Win A Las Vegas Trip From Malibu Rum

There's a couple of good things about this contest, and one negative. The negative is that it only runs through this coming Sunday, September 30th. There's a lot of good news, however.

First, they're giving away five trips, so you're chances of snagging one of them are a lot better than normal. Second, is that you'll get to take three of your friends. Last, but not least, the trip is for 5 days, and 4 nights.

Just to recap, if you're one of the five Grand Prize winners, you and three friends will get round trip tickets to Las Vegas, round trip transportation to and from the airport and hotel, and two hotel rooms for 5 days, 4 nights. You can book the trip anytime between the win, and Sept. 30th 2008.

You can head over to the Malibu Rum site HERE to enter.

Cigar Jack Cigar Reviews

I've really been enjoying the cigar reviews by Cigar Jack. Here are a few from the last week so:

Pinetop Perkins Torpedo by Avalon Cigar – Sounds middle of the road.

EO 601 Blue Label Maduro – Cigar Jack says that this is pretty strong one, so I might have to track one of these down.

El Primer Mundo Criollo Maduro – One of Cigar Jack's top ten. Might be the next one I get.

MAXX by Alec Bradley – Mentions it's similar in flavor to the CAO Brazilia, but stronger.

As always, if you're a cigar lover, it's well worth hitting his site and reading through the reviews.

The Wiesmann GT MF 5 Sports Coupe

The MF5 was presented recently at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The car has a compacted BMW made 5.0 V10 that pumps out 507hp and will take you from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 193 mph. The lower and wider MF 5 is able to hang on at those outrageous speeds, using its aero modifications to generate downforce and aid high-speed stability.

The cost will be somewhere around $250,000, depending on exchange rates, and the car should be available sometime in the summer of 2008. Wiesmann will also create custom fit seats and interior, or throw in a selection of super-lightweight carbon bits, for a little bit more.

You can see a few more pictures, read the press release and see the cars raw specs over at the Winding Road site HERE.

Blaupunkt Creates An SD Card Based Car Stereo

Blaupunkt USA's GM Lutz Marschall said "For more and more people, compact discs have become obsolete." For that reason, they've created the Melbourne SD27. The new car stereo gets rid of the CD player, replacing it with an SD card slot and a number of options for hooking up other digital musical players.

The SD27 comes with an AM/FM tuner with 25 presets, a 3.5-mm AUX input and hooks up to optional USB, Bluetooth, and iPod adapters. The display can handle 127 music directories and displays 30 characters of an ID3 tag. If that wasn't enough, it also comes with a TEL/NAVI input for cell phone and navigation systems. The current price for the system is $160.

A Luxury Anti-Sea-Sickness Yacht

The Ferretti 630 looks like your standard $3.2 million dollar yacht, but it has something special up it's sleeve. The 630 come with an Anti Rolling Gyro that stops the boat from rocking from side to side, which is the primary cause of sea sickness.

Created by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Anti Rolling Gyro system was created for use in satellites to prevent them flying off course in the event of an impact. The system uses a 154lb steel and aluminium gyroscope located in the bottom of the hull, which is powered by an electric motor. When the boat starts to tilt, the spinning gyroscope compensates for the angle to keep the boat upright, even in choppy seas. The system can be used anytime from when the boat is at anchored to when it's at optimum speed.

You're not just paying for a steady ship, however. The Ferretti isn't short on luxury, though it is on the smaller side holding only 18 people total. You can check out pictures of the interior, get all the tech specs and so on at the Ferretti site HERE.

A Drink That’s Good For You

Good for you might be a little bit of a stretch when you're talking about drinking, but if anything is, it's TY KU, a new sake-based liqueur from Asia. A World Champion Master Mixologist combined more than 20 ingredients from four continents, such as ginseng, pomegranate, Asian pear, oolong and green tea, yuzu, honeydew, plum, dragon's eye and damiana. It's other claim is that it's supposed to be hangover free. That alone is worth testing in my book.

The drink isn't supposed to be too sweet, as with a lot of liqueur, and mix well with a number of other things. In fact, if you're looking for drinks, the TY KU site has several to choose from. Though I'm not sure if that "hangover free" title is still valid if you're mixing it with whiskey. Again, testing needs to be done.

You can head on over to the TY KU site HERE, to learn more about the drink.
