Own Part of a Race Horse

Castle Village Farms is currently accepting new owners for a partnership to buy a race horse. Here's some details from the site:

The CHANT partnership, named for the 1894 Kentucky Derby winner, will be looking for a high-level claiming horse to run on the New York circuit (Belmont, Aqueduct and Saratoga).  Depending on the amount of capital raised, we’ll be looking for a horse in the price range of $35,000 to $65,000, with the aim of getting a horse that can be competitive not just in the claiming ranks, but also in allowances and overnight stakes races – or even more, one never knows.

The new partnership will seek to build on our recent claiming success stories, such as Diligent Gambler and Fighting Speedy.  Diligent Gambler was claimed as a three-year-old at Saratoga in 2004 for $35,000, and  won six races for us and over $230,000 before he was claimed away earlier this year.  Fighting Speedy , a NY-bred filly, was claimed for $30,000 in 2005 and won four races and over $200,000 for us before she was claimed away last year.  She was also stakes-placed twice in Castle Village Farm silks.
Like Diligent Gambler and Fighting Speedy, our new claim will be trained by Leah Gyarmati.  Leah is based at Belmont and has had considerable success with claiming horses. She knows how to manage the aches and pains that most claimers have, and she’s patient enough to get the best out of her horses.

The new partnership will be capitalized somewhere between $50,000 and $100,000, so a full share of $2,000 will represent between 2% and 4%, depending on the amount actually raised.

The good thing about this is that you can buy in for the minimum, up to as many shares as you want. You can head over to the website HERE to look around, and see some of their past success.
